In a place somewhere in the earth, there's a girl named Solen. Isa Siyang masayahing dalaga. She loves bright colors. Specifically, the color yellow. Because it reminds her of her of the sun. Bright. The sun that gives light to everyone. Just like her.
Their family is known because of her father. Her father is the chief of their town. They make the rules and the town's people gladly obeyed it too. Everyone is living a happy and peaceful life so there's nothing to worry about.
Every dusk, Solene goes to the shore to admire the beautiful sunset.
"It looks so beautiful, right?" A gentle voice of a woman said. Solene looked behind her and saw a woman her age.
The woman has loose hair and is wearing a brown dress.
Solen just stared at her. Completely mesmerized.
The woman tilted her head. "Is there something wrong with my face?"
Solen suddenly snapped out of her thoughts and smiled awkwardly. "U-uh.. n-no. There's nothing wrong with it."
In fact, it's perfect.
"Pardon me, but, who are you by the way? And where did you came from? I have never seen your face in the village before."
"Oh! I came from far across the ocean together with my father to visit the chief of this town. And my name's Luna."
Oh. My father?
Solen thought
"How about you?"
"My name's Solene. I'm the daughter of the chief." The girl-Luna made an 'oh' sound but smiled afterwards.
"I love your name! Solen. What a beautiful name you have."
Solen's face heated up with the compliment. No one really appreciated her name other than her parents.
"Y-yours too! It's so beautiful, Luna."
Luna smiled then said 'thank you'
They both talked for awhile until the moon is already shining brightly in the sky.
"We should go back now." Solen said. Luna agreed with her.
"Where are you staying, by the way?" Solen asked while walking.
They walked passed to a few houses. Most of the people are now asleep so they have to keep there voices down when talking.
"I'm not really sure. I immediately left after your father allowed me to explore the town." She explained.
"How long are you staying here then?" Solen asked once again. Luna stopped walking and so did she.
"A month.. I think.." Solen nodded
"There you are girls. I thought na Hindi na kayo babalik." Sinalubong kami ni Papa. "Luna, your father is in that house. You should go home now." He pointed at the house just a few meters away.
Luna said thank you and waved me goodbye before running to their house.
Days and weeks passed by and we stayed like that. Always hanging out at the beach and having a little talk with each other. We grew fond of each other until we're already unseparable.
And never noticed the feelings we're developing.
"Hey, Luna! Do you wanna go out?" I shouted when I saw her standing at the shore.
But because of something that I said, everything we have went downhill.
I kept on calling her but she never looked back. My smile started to disappear. I walked as fast as I could to reach her.
