Woken up by the sweet hymns of the 𝑮𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝑨𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊, Rohini lazily slipped of the bed. Putting her old-fashioned slippers on, she casually yawned and stretched, when she felt something against fleecy rub against her legs, she looked down to find her cutie pie, Anika, her fluffy and soft cat.
She gently picked her up while she was busy playing with the embroidery of her cotton night gown, just then, she heard a cool voice calling her, "Rajkumari!" (Princess!). "Jii?" (Yes?) she replied.
"If you have woken up then, please get ready quickly! I have set all your necessities in the Snaan Ghar." This soft voice belonged to none other than, Sheela, Rohini's personal maid. She wondered for a second why there was a hint of hustle in her voice...Then it clicked, Today is Rohini's big day! No no! It's not what you're thinking, it's not her wedding...It's something even more exciting...Today is her big performance of classical Indian music in front of several royal families...She bit her lip in nervousness, just by the mere thought of her, ROHINI PADMANUJA KASHYAP, the one and only princess of the royal family of Kashi and one of the best Veena players in all of Indian Subcontinent, messing up for the biggest performance of her life.
Her knees started to feel weak, and she sat down, bringing up her knees to her chest, deeply lost in a depressing wave of thought, but she zoned back in when she saw Karanika standing at the door of her room, looking genuinely concerned..."Ruhi, what's the matt-" She was immediately cut of by Rohini sobbing on her shoulder. "Nika, I-I don't t-think *Sniff* I'd b-be able to perform w-well at the event..." She looked at me like I was crazy, "Ruhi, there's no way that YOU wouldn't be able to nail this event, and please don't worry, EVERYONE believes in you..." And that's it, just a sentence of consolation was enough for her, because that on sentence is from her best friend, Karanika...Rohini took a deep breath and said, "Thank you so much, Nika, but anyways I gotta go, I don't wanna be late and mess everything up." Karanika grinned and she asked where Manisha was, since both of them were staying here for a few days, her reply being, "Bhens soyegi nahi to aur kya karegi?!" (Sleeping is the buffalo's job) She couldn't help but burst out laughing at this comment! few seconds after Karanika joined her.She finished taking a shower, only to be troubled by the thought of what clothes to wear...After searching in her closet for what seemed like an eternity, she came upon this one saree. It's an elegant silk saree consisting of a beautiful purple blouse, with an overall white colour and golden borders:
She decided to style it with a Gajra, (Flowers, used to style and decorate hair( like in the picture))
She even wore slightly heavy, gold anklets and dainty gold earrings to give subtle look.Sup guys!! whatcha think?? I'm kinda nervous...sorry for not being straight to topic in the chapter, it's cuz i wanted to set a theme, and I really didn't find it suitable to start with the main stuff in the 1st chapter itself...so yeah, but I'm really sorry for a few grammar mistakes here and there, as you know, English isn't my 1st language...but anyways, hope you guys liked the 1st chapter...Buh-bye my precious little diamonds...Stay safe, stay hydrated and keep your loved ones close to you!
