Y/n heard Grace ring her little bell, it was time for dinner. One of Dad's records droning on in the background. All of the academy stood in front of there chairs. Reginald walked in the room, "Sit" He commanded, all of them shuffled into there seats starting to eat. Luther and Allison were making heart eyes at each other, ew. While Ben read, Diego picked at the table with a knife, and Klaus did whatever the heck Klaus was doing.
Five was staring at Dad, 'Shit Five don't start anything' I said to him mentally using my telepathy. He ignored me. The little shit. He stabbed his knife into the table making Vanya flinch. 'Five,' I warned him telepathically.
"Number Five?" Reginald asked looking up. " I have a question " Five asked, already looking like he was going for something stupid. " Knowledge is an admirable goal but you know the rules no talking during meal time." Reginald said turning back to his meal. " You are interrupting Herr Carlson," He finished, raising his knife and gesturing to the record player.
"I want to time travel" Five said his words as cold and hard as his green eyes. 'Five knock it off. Your only going to piss the old man and get yourself into trouble.' I mentally told him. Diego was giving him a side eye, basically saying the same thing as me.
"No." Reginald responded" But I'm ready, I've been practicing my spacial jumps just like you said" Five hissed at him. 'Five STOP' I pressed on but he still ignored me. He blinked over beside Reginald showing him. "See?" Five said, Reginald just looked irritated but really that's not suprising.
"A spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel" Reginald answered
"One is like sliding along the ice. The other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of freezing water."
"And reappearing as an Acorn" Reginald said simply.
'Don't go off and turn into an acorn Five' I tell him telepathically ' I won't' his mind whispered back.
"Well I don't get it" He answered shoving his hands into his pockets. "Hence the reason your not ready" Reginald said, setting his glass down.
Vanya shook her head at him signaling to step down.
He just looked at her then turned back to Reginald, not giving up. "I'm not afraid" Five said, his voice on edge.
"Fear isn't the issue." Reginald said, still not looking up from his meal, "The effects it might have on your body, Or even your mind, are far to unpredictable."
'Five listen to me! Don't run off and turn into an Acorn!! An acorn with marbles missing! Please-' Y/n pleaded mentally to him.
"Now I forbid you to talk about this anymore." Reginald finished, Vanya looked at Five and Reginald with a worried expression, 'It's ok Vanya he knows better than to do shit like this...I hope..' I whispered to her telepathically, she then looked slightly less tense.
Then Five turned tail.. And he ran, "Shit" I mumbled under my breath. I leap up and chased him.
"Number Five! Number Eight! You haven't been excused!" Reginald shouted at us.
"Haven't been excused my ass" I mumbled, sprinting after Five. "FIVE!!" I yelled at him, shit he was to far ahead. I felt tears roll down my face. Bitch pull it together, I told myself trying to suck it up.
"FIVE!!" I yelled again, he didn't hear me, and in a flash he was gone. A blue flash and Five was gone. I kept running past the spot where Five had been, I felt him running through time. Then the feeling faded. I fell onto my knees, I couldn't help crying, I started sobbing, I knew that Five wouldn't be coming back. Not for a long time. I curled up into a ball in the middle of the sidewalk, people stared I didn't give a shit. My best friend in the whole wide world was gone, I clenched my fist, squeezing so hard I drew blood, Five was gone. Blue light flooded my eyes and my hands glowed the same deep navy blue. Somehow my telepathy was taking over, I did not care, not one bit. Then all of it faded to black as I saw my siblings hunched over me on the sidewalk.
"Y/N! Wake Up Please!!" Vanya cried.
"Y/n?!?" I heard Ben scream.
