It was that day, the day she transferred to Waterwood High, that she met the love of her life, he just didn't know it yet.
The bell rang signaling lunch time, but Autumn was so behind on her homework she decided to finish her math sheet before eating.
She was sitting on the bleachers. The area was remotely empty, besides the few kids who were playing soccer in the field.
Autumn placed her math sheet on the bleacher beside her, then straddled the seat to face her paper, away from the glaring sun.
If it weren't for the fact that she didn't care about looks, Autumn would be pretty attractive. She has light skin, and freckles that dotted her cheeks and arms. Her eyes were an odd shade of purple, but pretty nonetheless. Her wavy, light brown hair was almost silky, and reached halfway down her back. She was small and dainty, shorter than most of her classmates.
Autumn wasn't stupid, but she wasn't smart either. On the other hand, her athletic skills are amazing. She's faster than every person in her class, she's even faster and stronger than most of the senior boys.
She's mostly quiet, likes to keep to herself, but when someone really gets to know her,you learn how passionate and brave she is. How loving and kind she can be.
Autumn had answered three questions in
twenty minutes. This is bad, at this rate it'll take her hours to finish.
Because she was so focused on finishing her paper, she didn't notice the boy who had sat down a few benches below her.
"Need help?" Autumn looked up to see an older boy looking back at her.
Autumn felt her face heat up immediately at the site of this handsome green-eyed pink haired boy.
"Yeah, a little." Autumn sighed, staring down at her paper.
"I can help, I had a similar sheet last year, so it shouldn't be too hard.
"His face dropped. "Wait. I didn't mean to sound rude or anything! I just-"
"It's okay." Autumn smiled. "Besides, it's really kind of you to help me."
"So, what's your name?" She asked, holding out her hand. "I'm Autumn."
"Dan." The boy smiled, shaking it.
He's quite handsome, tall, well built and has a naturally charming smile. Unlike the rest of his appearance, his big beady green eyes were quite feminine, and so was his naturally pink hair, which was short and wavy.
His looks were what made him popular, which he didn't appreciate much. Dan doesn't talk much, but he's quite polite, greeting his classmates when they walk past, and has good manners. He'll do volunteer work often, and help the teachers after class.
Dan isn't very strong, he's definitely weaker than he looks. Most of his strength is in his head, he's the smartest kid in his year, and came close to beating a few senior students.
"What's the question?" He asked, climbing the bleachers and sitting across from Autumn.
Together the two of them worked on the paper; Dan explained easier ways to solve the equations, while Autumn took notes and answered the questions using those methods.
"Okay, final question. Try doing this one on your own." Dan said, pointing at question number twenty six.
Autumn but her lip. It took her a few minutes, but eventually she got it.
"Great! That's right!" Dan smiled.
"Wow, that was easier than I thought it would be." Autumn giggled. "Thank you Dan, it was really nice of you to help me."
