Besides the fact that Harry is a killer by night, by day his life is pretty simple.
He wakes up every morning, showers, brushes his teeth, gets dressed, and heads off to work. He works on the sixth floor of a brokerage firm downtown and he really likes what he does. Something about trends and numbers really gets him going.
He is also extremely organized. Not OCD organized. But he does like everything in its proper place and it's annoying when he can't execute things the way he planned them.
Whenever he's at work, he is quite the likable person. He doesn't have friends. But he does have acquaintances. And those that he has wishes they could be his friend. But that'll never happen because Harry doesn't believe in getting too close to something he can't own. Besides, he sees everyone as a potential victim. So there is no point in getting close when either one of them could be next.
Because Harry doesn't have friends, he doesn't have much of a personal life. He doesn't have much of a family life to speak of either, and for major reasons.
When Harry was a young boy, his father had a hard time keeping jobs because he was usually a hotheaded jerk to the customers. So he started a little cleaning business to keep people from telling him what to do. He kept all his cleaning equipment in the back of a used white cargo van he'd bought and used it as transportation to and from jobs.
His business was small and didn't make much money. Most companies already hired janitors to do their cleaning every day of the week. That resulted in him not being able to make enough money to reasonably provide for his child and cocaine dependent girlfriend, Harry's mother. So he made a deal with his girlfriend's dealer to use his van as a transportation vehicle.
Over time though, his girlfriend's addiction got the best of her and she started to shoot up some of the product he was supposed to be transporting while replacing the packaged contents with cut versions of the pure product. When the dealers finally caught on and realized what was happening, they threated the lives of Harry's parents and demanded they pay them back thousands of dollars in cash or pay with their lives. When they couldn't provide the cash, they took his father's life.
Instead of taking his mother's life though, they used her drug addiction to seduce her into a prostitution ring. She wasn't thinking straight and she abandoned her son without even so much as a second of hesitation about working for the men who killed the father of her child.
The only guardian Harry had left was the mother of his father, his grandmother. She hadn't been in touch with them for years because her son had completely taken her out of the loop when he realized she didn't like his "druggie baby mama." However, when she found Harry on the doorstep of her home, she took him in and began to raise him as her own from the age of seven onward.
She knew that something about Harry wasnt normal. And she knew much of it was the effect of being abandoned by the woman who was supposed to love him unconditionally. But she tried to do right by him.
She taught him about staying away from drugs and how to be a legit business man if he wanted to. She would even take him to the homeless shelter and feed the homeless just to remind him that kindness existed in the world and that there were always people in need that he could help. She never judged him when she discovered he was gay. Instead she supported him, hoping one day he could find the love of his life. When he got older, she sent him off to college with her retirement savings and she even bought him his first car. All in all, she did the best she could up until she became very sick and had to go to a nursing home permanently three years ago.
Nowadays he's busy hunting and stalking the residents of Xavier City, so he doesn't visit her as often as he used to. But he does take her out to dinner on a Sunday that falls in the middle of every month if the doctor permits.
