Chapter 2

"A tragedy is a tragedy, and at the bottom, all tragedies are STUPID..."

― Stephen King

====================================

It's cold outside so I grabbed my jacket before going to school, still bothered with the contest and the kiss yesterday,

'What if the contest is just fake? What if something bad will happen to you? To your family?' these questions popped out of my mind as I walk to the school's entrance. Sheesh, it makes me feel dizzy.

'No, no Eliza, nothing bad will happen okay? Everything will turn out fine.' I try to comfort myself.

"Hey Lizzie!" a familiar voice shouted my nickname, I turned around.

"Trixie! Sup?"

"Hmm, nothing much. How about you?" she stared at me. "Seems like you've got something big in your head. Is something wrong?"

Oopsie! Curse my face. I can't tell her about this crazy contest I joined. But I can't hide a secret from my bestfriend, we swore to each other that we shouldn't keep anything. Dang! What should I do?

"Oh! I'm just wondering what will I cook later, hah dinner time." I said uncomfortably. This is the first time I ever lied to my bff.

"I see. Hey, have you finished the assignment in Math?"

"No. It's seriously long. I'm sure Mrs. Spufer will not check it anymore."

"Well yeah, she's a big-fat-lazy old woman!" Trixie and I laughed.

"Haha shut up, someone might hear us!"

Then a hand grabbed Trixie's shoulder...

"Hey girls!"

I was surprised when I saw the guy beside Trixie.

Raphael.

"Raphael!" greeted Trixie. "It's been a long time! How are you?"

"Oh, I'm fine Trix. Hey Eliza!" he winked.

Cold ran through my spine. I forced a smile.

"Hey there!"

"Oh, you know each other?" asked Trixie

"Yeah! Don't Eliza mention me to you? I'm her childhood friend and neighbor, how cool is that hah? Actually, I always go to their house to visit her and her parents."

Trixie looked to me smiling oddly as if saying 'You've got to tell me something later...' Shizz, oh no.

"Tell me something more of you and Eliza!" Trixie smiled at him charmingly.

No. I have to stop this. THINK THINK THINK!

"Well, we used to play video games and hide and seek. Also - "

"Uh, it's already time, we're gonna be late for our first class Trixie." I interrupted.

Trixie looked at her watch.

"Yeah right. So, see you soon Raph?"

"Sure Trix, maybe later lunch break?"

"Okay! That would be a deal! More stories to come! Yay!" she smiled at me slyly.

Crap.
