"Camp?"

Although she wasn't the only one who said it, Cayley's voice stood out from all the rest.

I shot her a skeptical look, wondering why she needed to speak so loudly just to ask a simple question.

Though, she didn't even spare me a glance.

"We're going to camp?" She repeated, her hands clutching the sides of the table so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

Our teacher - Miss Meadowcroft - smiled kindly, nodding.

"Indeed, Miss Terrell. You will all be paired in groups of four, with two boys and two girls in each group." She explained.

Somehow, the groupings sounded extremely cliché.

"Now then," Miss Meadowcroft said briskly, "Here are your groupings. Addison, Bryson, Carson and Darshon, you four are together."

I sighed, just waiting for my name to be called.

"Right, Anemone, Cayley, Rain and Vailant. You four are together." Miss Meadowcroft said, smiling kindly in a direction behind me, presumably Anemone.

"We're together!" Anemone said brightly, flashing us an enthusiastic smile. She pulled up her chair in front of Cayley as Vailant did for me.

"It's a coincidence that the couple is together in the same group, huh?" Vailant added with a suggestive smirk.

"Couple...?" I asked confusedly.

"Did you forget already?" Anemone asked with a teasing smile. "You and Cayley are dating!"

We are...?

"Fake dating." Cayley corrected, shooting me a knowing smile.

Oh yeah.

"Anyway, here's the packing list." Anemone said, passing around a sheet of paper with text written all over it and a couple of checkboxes.

What would we need sleeping bags for...?

"It's an overnight camp." She said, as if she managed to read my mind.

Maybe she did, who knows? Not me for sure.

"Where is it?" Cayley asked, jabbing Anemone at her waist, to which Anemone shot her a playful glare.

"Moor Hills." She replied, placing the map on the table.

I felt all the blood drain from my face after hearing that.

Is it that time already...?

"Moor Hills?" I asked, pale as a sheet.

Vailant and Anemone frowned slightly after seeing my expression, but Cayley just smiled brightly. "Yep!" She giggled. "The safest and prettiest school camping ground!"

"What's wrong?" Anemone asked, a hint of concern in her facial features.

"Nothing..." I muttered, but the lie was as clear as day.

The bus rolled past grassy plains and muddy grounds, driving up a steep hill before finally coming to a stop in front of a wooden cabin.

The students slowly piled out of the bus, examining their surroundings. They were standing in a grassy patch, and surrounding them in a circular shape, were dozens of trees and shrubs descending all the way down the mountain.
