CH. 2

𝑪𝒓𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍

"Baby where are we going?" I ask Demetria as she guided me into a dark room.

Or maybe it was dark because I had a blindfold on.

"Step up." She said tapping my thigh.

I followed her instructions and stepped up on what felt like stairs. Demetria and I took a couple more steps and she reached behind me and pulled the blindfold off my eyes. My mouth dropped at the romantic set up before my eyes. 

"DeDe, this is so beautiful." I said covering my mouth. 

We were on the beach, on a patio. It was beautiful dinner set up. I knew my wife had something up her sleeve, she was acting weird and nervous all day. Whenever something is going on, Demetria gets really anxious. It's cute. 

"Thank you so much." I siad grabbing her face. 

I planted a passionate kiss on her lips and slid my tongue into her mouth. Demetria pulled away and licked her lips. 

"Come on let's eat." She said walking to the table. 

"I know what I wanna eat." I said slyly. 

Demetria chuckled. "It's your birthday. I'll be doing the eating tonight." She said. "As I do every night. My little pillow princess." She pulled my chair out and I sat down. 

"I'm not a pillow princess." I said rolling my eyes. "I gets down when it's necessary." I remind her. 

"Oh is that right?" Demetria asked licking her lips. 

"Yeah, you know that." I said grabbing her hand. "That's why you still with me." I flirted heavily. 

Demetria sucked her teeth at my comment and looked away. 

"That's not the only reason I'm with you." She said. "I just love you, you make my life easier. You and the kids." She said. 

"You know when I first met you I was really scared about this-- about us. But eventually you showed me more effort than I've ever seen in a partner, I just knew I had to have you." I told Demetria making her smile. 

"Was it worth it?" Demetria asked me. 

"Was what worth it?" 

"All the drama and chaos it took for us to get here?" She asked. 

I smile and nod my head. "Yeah I guess so." I softly responded. 

Demetria and I took a while to get to our happy place. The first year of our relationship was hectic. My parents never approved of me being with a woman. I think my dad hated more than my mom for sure. But, once I fell in love with Demetria, there was nothing in the world that could stop me from being with her. Then Demetria and made love for the first time, I was obsessed after that. 

"Speaking of kids and family, I've been thinking about something I want to discuss with you." Demetria said as I sipped my wine. 

"Oh lord, this just got serious." I said. 

I took one last sip of wine and put my glass down. 

"I mean, I met with Kennedy's guidance counselor at the school and she's getting a lot better. You see her around the house, she's helpful more vulnerable. Plus, her and Jasmine are getting along now." Demetria said making me squint.
