Ali's POV.
Okay, so it was September 2014. It was the first day of my 9th grade year at Witman Middle School. Sunny and 81 degrees in MiddleTown, North Carolina. What made this year different from the rest? Well thats what this story is about. That one year that changed my outlook on the world, and my outlook on forever.
My alarm clock woke me up at precisely 7:30, playing Soldier by: Gavin Degraw. I sat up, feeling refreshed. I've been waiting for this day for the pass 2 weeks. The first day of school. I can't wait until I walk through that building, to see all my friends that have grown over the summer greeting me. Those same familiar and nice faces I get to see everyday.
I jumped in the shower, making sure to wash my hair throughly. Roughly brushed through my thick, glossy waves. Before calling it good, I brushed my teeth and started with my normal everyday makeup. Consisting of light powder, medium eye shadow, and mascara. Then onto my outfit. "Mm... what shall I wear today?" I asked myself.
I started with my black striped skater skirt, and a pink long sleeved crop top. Followed by my black Vans. Some pearls and my grandmas neck less to add to the blank surface, and to finish my moms birthstone ring. I quickly glanced at myself in my body lengthened mirror before calling it okay. I hurried down the stairs below remembering something I had forgotten.
I ran to my dresser grabbing my thick black rimmed glasses and glanced at my self one more time. I know, I know, who forgets that one thing that helps you see? Well I had only gotten these glasses about a week ago, when my eye doctor had explained that these would help me see the words better as I read. So instead of calling them reading glasses, I just wear them all the time.
I raced down the stairs one more time. I headed to the kitchen where I grabbed a banana and the rest of my berry smoothie I had made for my earlier workout, and called it good. It was 8:20 now, and I had to leave at 8:30 to make it on time. I grabbed my lunch and clothes for gym and shoved them in my backpack. Lastly, I clutched my bag in one hand and my helmet in the other and headed for the door.
I was almost to the door when I remembered something. " Bye dad, I'm heading to school." I yelled up the stairs." Goodbye darling, have a wonderful day." My dad responded. With that I opened the door, jumped on my bright red scooter and headed for school. Goodbye summer, hello classes and homework.
Sorry for a short first chapter, I hope you liked it anyways. 💭✌🏼️☺️ -Emma
