Chapter 1

Kai's pov

"Guys we have a new mission. The sceletons are attacking ninjago again." my sister called us all to the cockpit of the bounty. We all arrived "where is Jay?" she talked again.

"I will go search for him" I said, yet so excited. I went outside his room and knock on his door.

"come in" He said and I opened the door to reveal myself at him.

"hey are you still sleeping?" I asked and he nodded, wrapping his hands around his stomach and turning his back at me.

"I don't feel well. Please tell the others that can go without me. It's not that they will need me, it's just some sceletons." he didn't look at me.

"then I will stay with you" his head turned so quick, I swear I thought it cracked. He looked dead into my eyes and straight to my soul.

"no! The others will need you. Plus I don't know if I have caught something, I don't want to get sick as well." he turned back around, cuddling a different pillow from the one he uses for his head.

"As you said it's just some sceletons. If you have something then I should stay and take care of you." I insisted.

"im good, now go with the others."

"oh my god Jay. Why are you so stubborn. You know damn well that fire wouldn't work without it's light."

His ears lighted quickly with bright red color. "what do you mean?" he whispered.

I chuckled not enough so he could hear me "I mean that I can't go fight without you" after a while of silence, I continued. "oh I see the case, you just don't want me to stay with you. Should I call someone else to stay?" I walked closer to him.

"no, I don't want anyone else.... I mean I don't want to bother them and y-you just insisted on staying. Nothing else." he said while gesturing his hands up and down, to make his point and from nervousness.

I hummed and touched his forehead, he looked up at me." I understood, you didn't need to elaborate " I didn't tease him more, as he was way too red anyways and I didn't need more information as I knew he meant the first part. He is so obvious.

"You are burning up" let me get the thermometer and tell the others we aren't going with them.

I walked outside, closing the door behind me. "what took you so long is he OK?" Zane asked.

"He is probably sick, I will stay with him." I looked for the thermometer.

"awww Kai has a cruuush" Cole teased.

I death stared him "So what? Also it's not a big of a deal if I stay back. The enemies aren't difficult to defeat"

"Alright, guys let's go." Lloyd said and everyone went outside.

Nya stopped just before going out "Take good care of him. Ok?"

"Yeah don't worry. You know I used to take care of you too, right?" she laughed and nodded.

"I remember. See you later"

"see you" I got back to Jay's room. This time I knew he would have fallen asleep so I didn't knock.

"you didn't knock" he was still cuddling the pillow.

"I thought you were sleeping, so I didn't want to bother you." I gave him the thermometer and placed it under his armpit.

I sat on the edge of the bed. "why did you want to stay?" he asked looking at me.

"isn't it clear yet?" it's because I like you" he put on a confused look.

"what? Really?" before I could answer the thermometer rang, because it was done with the results. He took it out "39.3"

"you are burning. I'm coming back in a bit, till then go back to sleep." I got out before he could respond.

I went to the kitchen and made some soup. After a while I got back and he was sleeping this time.
