Y/N's POV:

I wake up to a nasty headache and to the dog licking my face in the morning and see that Hailee is still asleep by my side

I also can't help but to smile to the sight of her sleeping

After that, I leave my bedroom and put on some sunglasses because this hangover is killing me

I go to the kitchen and prepare breakfast. Eggs, pancakes and bacon. The Specter Special, as dad would call it.

I then hear the door to the penthouse opening...must be mom

I decide that it's time to play dumb, even though I know it's not gonna work with my mom

Y/N: Mom, what brings you here today?

I ask innocently while hiding the left side of my face, covering the cuts and bruises

Donna: Cut the bullshit.

Y/N: What?

She then gives me the "Donna" look 

I take off my sunglasses and show my mom the bruises on my face

Y/N: Ray told you, didn't he?

Donna: Ray has to tell me everything that happens to you when he picks you up. He also mentioned that you brought a girl over.

Y/N: It's not what you think.

Donna: Isn't it? You brought Hailee over and you ended up-

Y/N: We didn't do anything, mom. We both were exhausted and it was late at night.

Donna: But you did sleep in the same room, right?

I sigh

Y/N: Yeah.

After that, Liam shows up in the kitchen

Donna: Hi Liam.

Liam: Good morning, Mrs. Paulsen.

Y/N: Had a fun night?

My mom looks at Liam

Liam: Something smells great here.

Y/N: Breakfast is almost ready.

After that, mom grabs a piece of bacon and eats it before talking

Donna: I'm glad to see you're doing okay, sweetie. But just call next time if something like this happens again. I better get going

Y/N: Come on mom, you're COO. I'm sure you can be late once or twice.

My mom has been COO at Louis' law firm since 2018, she's basically second in command there

Donna: Sorry Y/N, but I can't today.

I sigh with sadness and she comes to kiss me on the cheek
