It's the next morning and I wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs , I walk down the steps into the kitchen to find my mother cooking breakfast . There are plates of eggs and pancakes , bacon and everything on the counter . Then there is my mom with the biggest smile on her face .
"Hey Ma , what's all this?" I say eating a piece of bacon
"Hey Baby , I decided to cook a lil something u know , since you have school and all "
"Oh ok , That's good I'm glad to see that your doing a little better" I smile
"Yea I do feel better , I truly do" she says smiling
" Where were you yesterday , Mateo gave me sandwiches but you wasn't home"
" Oh yea! , I got a job at Starlight , Mike interviewed me last night"
Mike was my uncle , he owned a new bar and grill in Queens. He's been offering my mom a job there but she has been refusing it until now I guess ."I'm happy for you mom , this will be good for u ; I know it will" I say hugging her
She hugs me and pushes me towards the bathroom
" Hurry and get ready , I'll bring u to school "
"Ok damn ma, alright " Laugh and walk into the bathroom
I open my phone for the first time all morning and I see a text from an unknown number
