I'm posted up at Teo's deli to meet the guys . Something feels weird , something feels out of place but I can't describe it .
"Yo Lil wassgood bro" . I look up to see Lee .
"Wassup good" I dapped him up . "You ain't been around here inna min" .
" Yea bro I had to take care of some shit , but it's handled now ." He grabs my shoulder. "How's the fam?"
"Who Eli , He been on some crazy stuff with Tyler"
"Yea I heard he tryna mess with them Hunts point niggas"
"That's what I'm talking about but i'm not going for it and he's not listening, ion wanna have a fall out with Tyler cuz that's gang fr but he know how I get"
I caught Lee's eyes darting from side to side as if he'd been searching or counting something . "....Bro...don't make it hot but something is not right , go and tell Teo to call Eli and Tyler. BE DISCREET !
I walk into the deli and tell Teo to call the guys . Eli comes from the back but there's no sign of Tyler. When we go back outside Lee gets a hold on his gun. " Lil , you see that BMW over there?" he says with a fake smile ."Yeah , I see it " I say turning my back to the car" .
The License plate says " Ghetto FAM" .
Before I could even respond I felt Lee push me to the side as he pulled his Beretta M9 from his jeans . " Yo ,It's them Huntspoint niggas" Eli yells as he pulls out his pistol too .
I see a guy walking up in my peripheral vision. I pull out my Browning High-power shooting him in his shoulder . As I run behind a delivery truck I hear " Ah fuckkkk" . My eyes meet Lee who has been shot . I run over and pull him from the concrete onto the grass behind a car .
" Shit , shit , shit , Lee hold ya stomach bro ... HOLD IT "
He started pressing on it but his hold was not hard enough , so I took off my sweater and buckled it around him .
I start to see his eyes closing " Nahhh Lee come on man , YOU CAN'T LEAVE US BRO STAY UP" I yell, slapping his face . He starts to spit up blood as he tries to form his words . " Don't talk, save your breath bro" .
" Lil it's ok , tell my mom and my si-"
" No ..no,no,noooo Leo you can't leave fam get uppp"
I finally wake up . All is quiet . I look at the time " Fuck it's 7:00" I say sitting up . I look down finding myself in a puddle of sweat running my hands through my dreads . I can't believe I'm having one of these dreams again. I walk into the living room and see Eli . "Yo cuz , you're coming to school today?".
I haven't been to school in weeks and honestly I'm not looking forward to it at all . "Yea Im coming , why the fuck didnt you wake me up bro" I say walking into the bathroom .
"I don't know bro I didnt think u were coming , what's with the sweat?" He says pinching the back of my shirt . " It's nothing....It was a dream" .
"Khalil... Look at me" . I turn to look at him. " Lil those are not dreams gang those are nightmares, I thought you looked into that."
I suck my teeth and slam the door . "Are you not talking to somebody about it ?" He yells through the door . "Alright , have an attitude and hurry up !!"

I get out of the shower and wrap a towel around my waist . As I walk out of the shower I text Laya . I'm gonna be honest I'm always in relationships but they never last long , my last relationship lasted for 3 years on and off with this girl Jasmine .
"I always felt that relationships truly grow after your teens years" I used to say.
It wasn't good at all , she was too much of a flirt and didn't trust her to be around no other guys , not even my friends . Last year when I went out with the guys I caught her in the club with some dude talking about some "That's just my cousin" . I didn't have it in me to fight so I left her before I moved here from New Jersey .

Nothing really might go over to my friend's house after school, that's it , Why do you ask?

"We're gonna pick up Justin and then we're going straight to the school" Eli says opening the door. I get in the passenger seat and close the door "alright bet" .We pull up to Justin house and we see him come out with a bag . "Yoooo , wassgood family" He say pulling the door open . "wassgood , since when do you bring a backpack Dora?" I say laughing .
" Since I gotta eat my snacks in there, I bet y'all gonna ask me for some tho " he says side eyeing. " Whatever bro put on your seatbelt" Eli says, answering a phone call on the car bluetooth .
" Yo , wassup Britt"
"Hey J , meet me at the Mcdonalds by the school we going there before school"
"Alright bet"
"So we out to Mcdonald's ?" I say raising an eyebrow . " Yo Lil you're mad greedy bro who eats mcdonalds at 8 inna morning bro ?" Justin scoffs
" Bro shut up , i'm hungry and why you tryna get to school on time anyway"
"Because I'm a scholar and you a drop out" He laughs
" Yea whatever , I aint drop out yet, not that tired" I laugh as I open the door to get out of the car. "Imma smoke real quick imma come in and order inna minute" I say to Justin taking out a blunt. "you tryna smoke Eli?" .
"Yea bet" .
I spark the blunt and take a big pull and ghosting it through my nose . "Bro , I'm not tryna be annoying but you gotta handle them nightmares, it's almost a year since Leo died" He says taking the blunt from me .
" Yea cuz , I know but that therapy stuff is not for me and Ma is sick ; I just wanna take care of her right now" .
"Yea Lil I get it but when are you gonna take care of you? that's why you moved back to new york"
Eli was right. I know I'm gonna have to get rid of these nightmares but I got better stuff to worry about . I spent 9 months back in Jersey after the shoot out , things got too hot and I couldn't handle Leo not being around. He was a part of our family and he's just gone .Then within the same time my mom fell sick from her Lupus which we didn't even know of .
I feel terrible that I missed the funeral and everything. Now that I look back , it was selfish of me to put my feelings before my friends and Leo's family .
