I slowly woke up and dragged myself out of bed. It's a fairly sunny morning for late summer in the PNW.

My older sister, Bella, is supposed to arrive here tomorrow, it'll be weird to have her move in after it just being me and dad for so long.

My dad, Charlie, and my mom, Renee, got married quick and young. But, they divorced a few years after I was born. I don't remember very much from the split, as I was so young, but based on the loose timeline that I've formed from the small information that my dad has told me, my parents likely started to drift when I was a toddler. Renee ran off to travel the country, taking Bella with her since it's easier to do so with a kid who can walk and talk smoothly rather than one who is a little more behind. So, my dad got left with me.

Bella and I don't have a bad relationship, but its always hard being two teenagers who haven't seen each other in years. If Renee and Bella were ever in Washington my dad would drive me to their hotel to hang out for a little while, but he would quickly drive back to Forks. Usually Renee would be out around the town, leaving Bella and me to our own vices. Though the last time Renee could care enough to come up here I was about 9 years old. So I guess it's been what, 6 years since I saw them?

Bella and I have spoken on the phone, obviously, but we never had that great of things to talk about. I mean, we do have a bit of an awkward age gap. What much do an 10 year old and a 13 year old have in common? One last name was about the only thing in our case.

I'm sure we have more in common now considering we're both in high school, but of course, we still have our personality differences.

Bella's always been a little more quiet, leaning on the pessimistic side, kinda like Dad. Funnily enough, I've always taken a little after Mom. The personality parts at least, not her thought processes. That'd be scary.

Anyways, I think Bella might like Forks, it fits her vibe. Dark and gloomy, but endearing. I'm excited to have a friend around all the time, and hopefully get the opportunity to get closer to my sister.

And of course excited to get rides around town.

As I walked down the hall I looked into her bedroom. Still the exact same as when she had to leave with Renee.

I wasn't sure if I should change it or leave it for her, I don't know what she likes now. So I've decided to just leave it and help her if she ever wants to make any changes.

I walked downstairs and got ready to make my dad and me some breakfast, it's his day off today so I get to hang out with him a little bit.

I was about halfway through making us a small breakfast arrangement when he came down to watch the news.

"Hey dad, I made you some food," I said to him, causing him to turn around and notice me standing there for the first time.

"Oh, hi V. Did you happen to make any coffee with that, too?" He replied.

"Of course," I laughed while hanging him a mug of the dark liquid, "just wait a lil bit and the rest of breakfast will be done."

He thanked me with a nod and took his coffee to the couch to slowly wake up while catching up on news he probably already knew about through the police station.

Once I was finished I called him over.

"Woah, if you make something like this for your sister tomorrow she'll never want to move out," he said when he saw the food.

"I was planning on it," I said with a smile.

We sat at the table and ate while chatting lightly.

"So what do you think we should plan to do with Bella tomorrow?" I asked.
