A low melody of music played in the bedroom for Jun. Her bedroom was similar to Marinette, but more decorative. Her walls were filled with posters of bands, shows, and magazines, shelves covered in books and plush toys, decorative lamps warming her room, and plants adorning every crevice.
She laid in bed looking through job applications on her laptop. She had taken up a hobby as a photographer and editor. Aside from working at the bakery occasionally, she wanted to get another job for extra money and experience.
Looking through different websites she noticed her phone ringing from the side of her eye. She grabbed it, taking a quick glance to look over her application before checking the contact name. "Rose?" She questioned picking up the phone, "Hey Rose what's up?".
After a bit of chatting, "Right! Your concert. Don't worry I'll be there in 30 minutes, bye!". She threw her phone on her bed as she clicked finished and submitted her application.
Today was Paris's music festival, and her friends were going to have a concert at Julekas house. She remembered them briefly discuss it in class the past few days. It must've slipped her mind with how busy she was preparing specialties with her father for the festival.
Grabbing her bag she took a quick glance at herself in the mirror before grabbing her phone and leaving. Making her way downstairs she was met with her mom talking to customers. Jun grabbed a box of sweets she set off to the side before walking past her mother.
"I'm heading out now mom!" She yelled, getting ready to walk out the door.
"Be careful and remember to tell Marinette as well!" she yelled back handing a boxed cake to the customer in front of her.
Jun looked back at her "She'll be fine, I'm sure she can handle herself", before running off with a chime of the bell.
While walking she continued to take glances at the map on her phone. To be honest she'd never been to Julekas house before, however she did hear from Rose that it was on water, which piqued her interest.
Showing up to a canal, she noticed a boat tethered down on the pavement. Walking closer she saw a familiar bright pink figure coming towards her, then, the feeling of someone crashing against her.
"OOMPH-". Looking down, is was Rose who had ran up to her. "Hey Rose" she smiled.
Rose looked up at her with big eyes and an even bigger smile, "Jun! Perfect! We were worried you weren't going to find the place" she exclaimed.
Juleka walked over to join them, "Actually it was just Rose that was worried". Rose's face gave a look of betrayal with Jun laughing at the both of them.
She followed them onto the boat, meeting up with everyone else. Ivan and Nino were setting everything up, giant speakers were at the ends of the boat and lights were hanging off of the poles. "Wow guys this looks great".
Nino walked over rubbing his nose smugly, "Yup you know how we do it". He looked over at the box in her arms, "Hey wait! Are those for us?" You could tell he wanted to eat them right away with the way his eyes shined.
Jun opened the box to reveal creme filled croissants. Croissants in a circular shape, flakey, and filled with crème and icing drizzled over. Everyone walked over to grab a piece. "I'll set these down inside, but when I come back you have to tell me if it tastes good, I need all thoughts and opinions okay?" She said before heading down.
"She's got that baker mentality, always looking for ways to improve recipes" Alya said, taking a quick pick of croissant before digging in.
She walked down the steps and followed the hallway to find a spot to place the box, because they were setting up it was pretty messy both inside and outside. Suddenly she saw a figure behind her, she whipped around before being met with a guy that...looked like Juleka?
He had a mix of black and blue hair, piercings, and carried a guitar. "Sorry I didn't mean to startle you". Oh this must be Julekas brother, she can vaguely remember Rose telling her he was their guitarist.
She caught herself starring too long, "Oh, no it's alright". He looked at the box in her hands, "Oh!" She opened the box and looked at him expectingly, "Would you like one?".
He gave her a smile, "Sure, thank you". He took a bite, humming in satisfaction. "Did you make these?" He asked her.
"I did, please let me know if it tastes good or if it tastes bad" she said looking at him hopefully.
He contemplated on how to describe it, "Well first it's really good". She smiled. "Second, I'm tasting something sweet, but it doesn't taste like regular sugar".
Jun is a pretty open book, most times her facial expressions were distinct, you could tell exactly how she felt about something. And it was one of those times where she was extremely expressive, "Yes! I mixed condensed milk in it to make it extra rich".
The shine in her eye captivated him. "You're really passionate about this huh?" His low voice was sounded smooth.
"You could say that, but more so it's because I work with my parents, so it's good to hear feedback" she pointed out, and finally set the pastries down.
She stretched her hand out to him, "I don't think we've properly met before, I'm Jun by the way". She told him as he shook her hand.
"It's nice to meeting you, I'm Luka, Julekas older brother," that's right his name was Luka how could she forget when Juleka told her about him only 2 days ago.
"Mm by the way-". She was taken away from her thoughts, "Are you perhaps Marinette's sister?".
Hm? Did he know her sister? She'd never brought up meeting Luka before, "Mm yes, we're actually twins, do you know Marinette?" She asked him.
He gave a sheepish smile, "Not really, but she came in a few minutes before you did to let me know everyone is ready".
"Oh that's right! We should probably get back to everyone". Jun realized, and quickly walked back up to the deck with Luka following behind her. They met up with everyone else as Jun went to sit by Juleka.
She wouldn't be lying if she said she was staring at Luka as he tuned his guitar. Feeling a nudge on her elbow she turned to Juleka, "So, you've met my brother?" She asked with a slight teasing tone.
"Anyways- shouldn't you be helping Rose?" Jun teased back, and of course Juleka looked away in embarrassment. "You thought you did something huh?" Jun continued, laughing when Juleka gave her a playful punch to her shoulder.
Mylène walked over to Jun with earplugs in her hand, "You're going to need these, trust me", she took the earplugs from her, putting them in her ear when Luka tested out the sound of the speakers. And even with them she could still feel the tremor of the boat from the noise.
I guess everyone must've heard it because officer Roger came by and started to give out citations to Julekas mother.
