Lan Li Ling hissed as his finger got pricked by the needle, the servant that was tending to him stepped forward but he stopped her.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," he repeats.

"My lord, why not let us do it?" 

"It's okay I feel to" Lan Li Ling said as he continues 

He carefully stitches the needle inside the cloth as he thinks. Yan Chao Xiang has been out of character since yesterday. It's not a bad thing he must say but he is also very paranoid about it. 

Before whenever his first husband was sweet to him was to see if he either had money to gamble or make love to him. But it was mostly about money since his husband would take regardless of feeling up to it or not. 

Yan Chao Xiang is rich, he doesn't gamble much so it's impossible he wants money from him could it be his body? 

He feels weak though, but if that's what he wants he can bear it. After all before Xin Yong Nian use to be hungry and underweight his skin use to itch from the bad clothing and whenever he was sick he couldn't afford a doctor now all that change and Xin Yong Nian is super healthy all left to do is buy some toys with some of the allowance receive but recently he feels like the allowance has been declining. 

He never went to Yan Chao Xiang about it since he doesn't want him to think he's money hungry. 

"Master Lan, it's soon time for practice" the maid said coldly

"Really?" 

Lan Li Ling pauses, ever since he married Yan Chao Xiang he was given a teacher for him to learn to read and write. But Lan Li Ling wasn't a fast learner and it was very difficult indeed for him so most of the time he was an embarrassment for Yan Chao Xiang.

Soon Yan Chao Xiang walks into the room startling him, in his arms was Xin Yong Nian. He puts down the cloth with a needle carefully one side then gently greets them as Yan Chao Xiang puts down their son. Xin Yong Nian raises his palm to show his mother who stoops down and gives a gentle yet beautiful smile.

"What's wrong little Nian Nian?" 

"Ant bit Nian Nian, it hurts" he pouts 

Lan Li Ling takes his palm then gently kisses it. "Poor baobao, go away pain, leave my little Nian Nian'' 

Soon the little boy smiles as the mother then kisses his cheeks, they hug each other then the mother picks up the son and both look at Yan Chao Xiang who remains still watching them.

"Hou Yan," Lan Li Ling calls forth gently.

Yan Chao Xiang nods, "I'll be heading out for today" 

"Oh, I'll see you off" 

"No need, rest up and focus on you and our children" 

Lan Li Ling pauses, when he hears the two special words "our" "children". In his mind this means that Yan Chao Xiang acknowledged Xin Yong Nian as his son. He can't help but grin widely, Yan Chao Xiang was taken aback when he saw the other smiling at him widely.

"Hm?" 

Yan Chao Xiang takes a lock of his hair and places it behind his ear. He gently pulls his face closer and kisses him on the lips, Lan Li Ling's face changes colour and immediately becomes flustered. 

"A- A- Aiii" 

Lan Li Ling faces down, Yan Chao Xiang is wondering if he made the right move. In his old life he has met soldiers who have life outside being a weapon for the country and hearing that type of life they lived with their loved ones. One of the soldier's regrets was that he was not affectionate enough with his lover, not giving her enough roses not kisses and hugging enough not coddling enough. 

He doesn't know what is coddling but he knows kisses and hugs so maybe he should kiss Lan Li Ling at random. 

"H-husband l-little Nian Nian" Lan Li Ling stutters .

"Ok" 

Yan Chao Xiang stoops down as Xin Yong Nian looks at him confused, Yan Chao Xiang then kisses his cheek and pats his head. He stands up then speaks. "I shall be off for now" 

"Ah! Right!"
