MiguelMiguel heaved lightly as he finally apprehended the flamboyantly colored anomaly. The Scorpion, as Charlotte had put it, really made them 'Taste the Rainbow,' probably the most bothersome fight he's had since the Falcon encounters two weeks back, the cyborg Rhino being present didn't make the feat any less pleasant either. He turned around, feeling a sense of dread and downright mortification take over as he observed Elena, who was splayed out on the ground. Elena, the woman who he had called in for backup only to leave her...immobilized.
"Oh...Shock..." He cursed out as he slowly approached them, watching as Charlotte nudged the woman.
Miguel winced as he further observed the crime scene of the 'incident'. Elena's body was in a very awkward position, with one of her legs tucked in towards her body, and the other sprung out. It almost looked like she was doing a very uncomfortable stretch. A part of him wanted to save himself from the confrontation once more, to leave Charlotte to deal with the object of his ire. But the rational side of him knew that there was no escaping this. That was what he reasoned as he stood before the two.
"I swear I thought she didn't inhale any of my vapor!" Charlotte began to rant as she lifted up Elena's forearm to shake as if to make a point of just how little the poor woman could move.
" But she seems to be fine aside from you know-" Charlotte trailed off, stopping the motion of shaking the woman's limb once she noticed the wounds left behind by his canines. Miguel panicked and immediately dropped to his knees, easily lifting the Hispanic woman into his arms.
"Don't- Don't worry about it Charlotte, I'll make sure she gets home," Miguel said as he, as discreetly as possible, rushed to type in the coordinates to Elena's dimension.
That is until he realized he didn't know where she lived, and Elena couldn't speak. Guilt and dread tickled his nerves once more.
A part of him was grateful she couldn't speak because it saved him the mortification of having to communicate with her. And the part of him that felt premature annoyance that he would have to ask Lyla to directly transfer Elena to her home. He could already hear the Ai's snide comments about the whole thing. He had half a mind to swap places with Charlotte, to take the anomaly he had quite literally left Elena in the dust for earlier back to HQ, whilst Charlotte was tasked with the grand trial of taking her home. He cringed at the memory of Elena's scornful scream directed at him, not that he didn't deserve it...
As he felt the woman pressed against him, completely limp in his embrace, he swallowed any selfish thoughts he had. He reasoned it as guilt, yes, that is why he must take her home, not because he was worried about her well-being.
"Make sure the anomaly gets back to headquarters," Miguel ordered the girl as he stepped into the radiant portal.
Miguel squinted his eyes as he adjusted to the much darker sky, it was clearly well past the midnight hour, possibly bordering a few hours before sunrise. Miguel readjusted Elena to his arms, making sure her head was supported. He took note of how firm her body was. It was obvious that the woman was powerfully built to anyone with eyes, her thick thighs radiated strength and presented as much in combat. But what he didn't expect was the subtle softness of them as well-
Shock! He cursed himself once more as he commanded his focus to return once more, burying his shame. He took in a deep breath as he prepared for the inevitable interaction with Lyla.
"Lyla," He called out.
Lyla appeared almost instantly, her normally smug expression simulating a shocked one for a blinking moment. Lyla hummed amusedly, causing Miguel to cringe, not having the patience to deal with her antics right now, well not that he ever did.
