After the Gala, Diane seemed to let go of all inhibitions, indulging in a few too many drinks. Concerned for her well-being, I took it upon myself to assist her back to her vehicle and assumed the role of the designated driver. With care, I helped her into the passenger seat, making sure she was comfortable and secure.

I took my place behind the wheel, the night breeze whispered through the open windows like it was a careless whisper, The drive back home was peaceful, with only me accompanying my thoughts.

Once we arrived at her home, I carefully walk inside, lifting her bridal style as we made our way to her bedroom. Gently laying her down on her bed, I ensured she was settled before excusing myself to freshen up in the bathroom. Washing away the traces of the night's festivities, I returned to her room to check on her. There's a feeling that I can't quite put my finger on, as if we're being watched.

Diane lay there peacefully, her breathing steady and her features relaxed in slumber. Retrieving a soft blanket, I draped it over her, tucking her in with care. Unexpectedly, she stirred as I completed this small act of comfort. In her half-awake state, she reached out and took hold of my hand, her grip firm but gentle.

Knowing this gesture, I smiled at the thought of it and decided to join her, Slipping under the covers, I positioned myself beside her, feeling the warmth of her presence radiating through the shared space.

An unexpected turn of events disrupted the peacefulness. Diane's body reacted to the excess alcohol, and she vomited, soiling the bed and my shirt in the process. "Gross," I sighed, realizing the need to assist her in her vulnerable state. With disappointment, I gently disentangled myself from the covers, making sure Diane was positioned on her side.

Taking a deep breath, I resolved to handle the situation as efficiently as possible. I swiftly removed my soiled shirt, placing it aside to be dealt with later. Turning my attention to Diane, I ensured she was in a comfortable position before proceeding to clean up the mess.

"I'm surprised by one thing, but I find this disappointing," I attended to the affected area, carefully removing the soiled sheets and bedding. I swiftly cleaned the mattress, using mild detergent and warm water to eliminate any traces of the unfortunate incident.

After thoroughly cleaning the bed, I moved on to attend to Diane herself. With a warm washcloth and gentle hands, I wiped away any remnants of the incident from her face, making sure she was clean and comfortable... and possibly put mouthwash if she ever tried to kiss me.

Once everything was taken care of, I quietly disposed of the soiled sheets and bedding, ensuring the room was fresh and inviting once again. Satisfied with my efforts, I climbed back into bed, wearing a fresh set of clothes, and settled beside Diane.

The time on the clock read 3 AM, I wrapped my arm around Diane's waist. And sleep reclaimed me.
