Chapter 8-FIREWATER

After walking a long distance, everyone decided to take a break and discuss about the fire and water pearls.

Chloe initiated, 'grace, about whom do you know more, creature related to fire or the one related to water?'

'I guess I know more about the water one.'

'tell us from the start'

Grace started speaking, 'The closest creature to water is an undine. Just like a sylph is humanoid of air, undines are humanoids of water. But just as to our luck, there is only one undine left, which is believed to be dead'

As chloe heard the word 'undine'...she spoke up, 'Undines! I've redden about them in the writings of Swiss author Paracelsus. That undine's name was Cordelia right?'

Grace nodded, as Chloe continued, 'it is said that she became a human after falling in love with a man, but was doomed to death when he was unfaithful to her'

'how can we find her, if she is dead already?', Ethan cuts in.

Grace answered him, 'it is only said that she is dead, but some people believe that she is still alive. Even I've also never seen her. But indeed, chloe is right-undines are able to gain a soul and body by marrying a human. Cordelia did the same. She fell in love with a human named Aiden...and married him.'

Grace stumbled on her own words for a second, and said to herself, 'wait a minute...Aiden, is he that aiden?'

'What are you talking about', max asked confusingly, accompanied by chloe and Ethan.

'Aiden was a descendant of phoenix family.', grace started remembering everything now.

'and phoenixes are related to fire. Do you think somehow, the last two pearls are connected to each other?', Chloe added.

'are you trying to say that Cordelia is the protector of fire pearl, and Aiden is of the water one?' max briefed.

'maybe...yes'.

'I really don't understand what you are talking about', Ethan whined from behind.

'tell us more about aiden and cordelia', Chloe said to grace,

 'Aiden was the son of Queen Evanora and king Evander. Aiden's mother was a descendant of phoenix family, and possessed the ability of taking a hold over fire. Therefore, it is said that aiden was half-human, and also possessed the powers of phoenixes, which was a hereditary from his mother. It is said that Aiden left cordelia for the sake of his love, while others say that he misused her innocent love, and when she got to know about it, she killed herself in grief.'

'is this story of Paracelsus real?', max asked.

'I don't know either, that's what dad used to tell me.', grace answered.

'according to dad's research, the last time she was seen in these enchanted woodlands only.' Grace continued.

'and...what about Aiden? Where is he?', max asked.

'it's said that he burnt himself alive, when Cordelia left him.'

'but, if he was a descendant of phoenixes, and possessed the power to control fire, how can he be burnt?', Chloe asked.
