Another day of being a housewife. I cleaned a little around since we have two ladies help a lot around the house.

Jay called saying he was coming home at 7 to talk to his daughter, Alexandra who I call Lexi. She was born just when I met Jay. He says it was a one night stand with a random girl (apparently he was the girls first sexual encounter) yet Jay loves his kid with his whole being. Thats one of the things that made me fall in love with him.

He is charming but watching him talk about Lexi with such passion warms my heart every time. We been together now for 14 years, Lexi is 16 she's a mix of her mother Tessa and Jay, she has hazel eyes like her mother plus her brown curly hair. Jay most likely gave her the height and a piece of lips.

She came to live with us about nine months ago when Tessa just dropped her off saying, "I cant do it anymore, she's impossible to live with." Jay wasn't home at the moment. So I received her.

She never looks at me in the eyes. Her head is almost glued to the floor all the time. When Jay heard she was here and why he immediately found a way to get full custody of her same day. I mean having so much money gotta work for something.

All this time I have been trying to understand what makes her so impossible to live with, the girl hardly talks (even to her father) she's always reading or playing Just Dance. Comes home from school straight to shower, get a snack and does her homework in the mini library I made for her.

Weekends she sleeps in until 10am then has a routine of eating, reading, playing outside, a nap at 3pm and then she goes watch movies or stares at the kitchen wall. Weird but at least she's here. No electronics until Monday unless she's playing Just Dance.

Like right now she's in the game room playing. I walked in and sat on the couch to watch her.

"SHIT!" She jumped back and I laughed. "I didn't mean to scare you ladybug, how are you? Jay said you were sick!" She seems confused, I raised an eyebrow because actually she looks perfectly fine.

Thats another thing she never speaks more than three times a day to me. Then again we hardly ever spent time together as she grew up.

"Im fine now just needed rest!" She shrugged. she doesn't even hold an attitude towards me. Maybe she just doesn't care. She went back to playing. She's wearing a black Nike sports bra and basketball shorts. She's light skinned, little muscular apparently she plays softball and volleyball.

She paused the game and sat next to me drinking water. I examined her body carefully.

"Are those bruises?" She quickly jumped away from me. Jay told me about seeing them on her arms but she didn't let him get close enough to get a better look. Now im worried too. Who could be hurting her like this?

I got up walking towards her as she kept moving back until her back hit the wall. "Tell me Lexi, where those bruises come from?" She shook her head.

"Then I guess we'll be here all day!" She groaned looking at the ceiling. " thank you now I can see you were scratched on your neck too" she looked at me covering her neck. "Look Alexandra, this is really concerning, you hardly talk, if your father does as much as raise his voice you flinch. Can you please tell me where these bruises are coming from!" At the tone of my voice she started crying. She slid down the wall and hugged her legs, I sat in front of her and carefully touched her arm yet she still flinched.

"I-I can't... I really can't" she sobbed.

"You can trust me Lexi, I am not your mother and I am not trying to be. But I can be someone you trust and share your problems with." She sobbed a little.
