Pant pant

Heavy breathing can be heard through the quiet forest, a small purple blob flew through the air, dodging trees and other plants that get in its way.

Whiiishh

The wind blew making the plants dance. A few leaves hit the purple blob but it didn't pay attention to it as it flies hurriedly, seemingly trying to get away from something.

'I.... I lost them... I finally lost them...'

The creature sighed and slowed down. It looked around the area trying to find a place to hide for the night. When it doesn't see anywhere to sleep, it continues on venturing through the forest.

-

After three hours which felt like decades, the purple blob finally reached the end of the forest. It was a field filled with different kinds of crops and there were even animals like cows, chickens, and sheeps.

But what caught the creatures attention was a small garden at the corner of the field that was tucked away like it was trying to hide from people's eyes. It flew towards the garden cautiously and as soon as it got there, its eyes widened while looking at the various flowers neatly tailored across the place.

The purple blob's eyes shone, reflecting the moonlight through them. It neared closer to the garden, admiring the colorful plants.

'Pretty.'

That was all that came through its mind as it stared at them in awe.

But the peaceful atmosphere was shortly broken when pain struck throughout its whole body.

Eugghkk-

The purple blob coughed up blood and fell into the ground with a thud. It tried to get up but to no avail. All the veins in its body felt like they were about to pop and the fresh and old wounds started to sting.

'Is this how I die?'

The creature's body temperature skyrocketed as its breathing became uneven. Its eyelids became so heavy that it was hard for it to be kept open so it just closed its eyes, slowly falling into slumber.

-

'Where am I?'

The purple blob felt something soft underneath its small body. It was confusing for it since the last thing it remembered was falling into the ground and dying.

'Wait, aren't I supposed to be dead?'

The creature's eyes shot open as it abruptly sat up which ended up making its head hurt in the process. It felt something damp fall from its forehead but paid no mind to it. The creature massages its head with its chubby paws to try and ease the pain.

Once the pain settled down, the creature looked down and saw a white cloth folded into two, as the purple blob touched the white cloth, it noticed that it was damp.

'This must've been the thing that fell from my head.'

Click, screechh-

The purple blob's head shot up as it heard the noise, "You're finally awake." A middle-aged man said as he closed the door behind him and walked towards the bed where the purple blob was. The man stopped as soon as he made eye contact with the child who was glaring daggers at him.

'It's still a child but the aura it gives off is definitely of a dragon's.'

"Ah, it's okay. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you." He said, slowly raising his free arm up in surrender. The small dragon watched even his slightest movements like how a hawk would watch its prey. It noticed how the man gulped while avoiding eye contact. The continued shaking of his limbs also didn't go unnoticed by the child's observant eyes.

"Here, drink this so you would heal properly."

The middle-aged man handed the dragon a bottle with blue-ish purple liquid inside with his still shaky hands. The dragon eyed the potion before carefully taking it from the man's hand and opening it.

"I found you in my garden earlier when I went to water my plants and saw you covered in wounds while unconscious so I brought you home to get you patched up." He explained to the child who was quietly drinking the healing potion he had given.

The man mustered up the courage and asked, "How did you get hurt?"

The baby dragon bit the inside of its cheek and narrowed its eyes, remembering all the things some lowly humans did. It made the child furious and held the now empty bottle tightly, making it crack.

"I...." the man waited for what the young dragon was about to say.

"I despise humans... They're mean..." It mumbled with a croak voice. The man finally understood the child's situation. He may not know the full extent of the story but he sure knows that the dragon was hurt by humans for god knows how long. It made him pity the young dragon. He was also furious as to how someone could hurt a child.

"I understand." He said, "What do you want to do from now on?"

The purple dragon looked down at its paws and clenched them "... I'm going to live my life..." This made the man smile softly "Then do that, but for now you should focus on resting to get better."

The man turned around and walked out the room "I'll be back to bring you some food later. Rest up."

The purple blob watched as the door closed behind the man and stared at it until it could hear his footsteps slowly getting fainter and fainter.

The young dragon could feel an unknown sensation and started to frown while still looking at the wooden door.

"I don't like humans... They're... Mean..."
