Jeez, why must work be so exhausting even if you work from home. This woman spent hours arguing with me that her order wasnt sent and I come to find out she never even ordered anything. She expected me to send her a free gift. Bitch, I can see who made an order or not.
I'm outside right now, walking through the path in the woods. After that annoying call, I needed some fresh air. I live in a pretty simple neighborhood, my house just a little further than the others. Behind the houses are woods that dont seem to end. I made a little pathway through it that leads to a small garden I made, I love going there when I needed to relax or when I'm making my dolls for orders.
After a few minutes of walking, I made it to the spot and it was as peaceful as it always is. People dont come out to the woods and no animals roam near here so I get this space to myself. The light of the moon making the water of the pond shimmer with light. I was about to take a seat on the log beside it when I heard the bushes rustle. It startled me at first but then it was followed by whimpering, like a canine. There arent suppose to be animals near the neighborhood but I wouldnt feel right with just leaving it.
I kept telling myself my own prayers as I got closer to the sound, it becoming louder with each step. The bushes rustled again as I'm just infront of it, building up the little courage I have, I moved it out of the way to find something that made me freeze in place.
A giant wolf with black fur, dark grey belly and snout. The paws and tips of the ears fading with dark red color, begging myself that it's not blood. The eyes are dangerously red, looking like fire to a single stare, glows brighter by the light of the moon.
I was about to just run for it, wolves especially dont travel around here, not near humans. They can be very dangerous especially at night, slightly nocturnal. Before I could turn to run, I saw it was the leg that was hurt, a wound that was most likely created by scraping it against a tree or a boulder. It wasnt deep but it was bleeding and causing the wolf pain. I had to choose whether run home or risk dying trying to care this wound.
Take a wild guess what I chose...
"Hey, it's ok, it's ok, I'm gonna help you, alright?" I tried calming it down, little by little with my hands reaches out so it can see them. The closer I got the more I could see of it. For starters, it's a boy, there were a few scars in its body but they werent that big, there was a mark on his shoulder that looked like a tattoo or something. He was growling at me because of fear, that's why I didnt stop. I took off the ribbon that was keeping my hair up and held it out for him to sniff.
"I'm just going to put this around your leg, ok?" I asked, trying to gain his trust for just a few minutes. He stopped growling but made low snarls instead, leaning forward and hesitantly sniffing the ribbon. He leaned back down and lifted his injured leg for me to have access to. At quickly but softly as I could, I wrapped it around the wound and tied it so it wouldnt fall off. I set his leg down and backed up, giving him space.
"There you go, good boy. All better now" I softly spoke to him, trying to keep him calm so he'd just run off and I could go home. He looked at his leg then at me, his pupils getting slightly bigger. He starts to stand up with his leg off the ground, refraining from putting pressure on it. He started limping towards me slowly and I hot startled and nearly tripped on my feet to give up space.
"U-Um, g-good wolfy... please dont hurt me" I almost started to regret my choice when I heard my phone go off in my back pocket, that caused the wolf to stop moving. I reached down and pulled up my phone to get a text from my best friend, Savannah.
Bestie: Hey, where are you? Didnt hear you leave
Me: I'm fine, just went out on a little walk. I'll be inside in a minute
I put my phone away and looked back at the wolf, who was just standing there staring at me with doe eyes.
"Um. I have to go now fella. Go home, be careful next time" I turned and went back down the path. I ran a bit because I didnt want Savannah getting worried and coming to look for me. I love her, but I wanted that space to myself.
I made it back in about 2 minutes and was about to grab the doorknob when Savannah beat me to it.
"Girly, I thought you got taken or some-" She started but moved her eyes to something behind me.
"THE FUCK IS THAT?!" She screamed, pointing towards the ground. I turned around to see what she was screaming about and couldnt believe what I was staring at. Staring at those bright red eyes.
HE FOLLOWED ME?!
