CHARLES

The air in the school's theater was electric with anticipation. I settled into my seat, eagerly awaiting tonight's performance by my dear friend, Miles, and his boyfriend, Tyler. As the crowd hushed, Miles and Tyler took their places on the stage, side by side at the grand piano.

Without any introductions, their fingers gently brushed the ivory keys, and a haunting melody filled the room. Their synchronized movements were effortless as if their souls had been intertwined in harmony since the beginning of time. As the piano waltzed, Miles's fingers moved with a grace that only came from years of dedication.

Then, Miles began to sing, followed by Tyler, which caught me off guard. I didn't know they could sing.

Their voices blended with otherworldly perfection, creating a melody that resonated deep within my soul. Miles's voice was rich and soulful, carrying the weight of emotions on every note. Tyler's voice, gentle and ethereal, wrapped around it like a comforting embrace. It was a symphony of love and unity, an enchanting melody that held the entire room captive.

Their eyes locked; their connection was palpable as they exchanged glances and smiles, wordlessly communicating their shared passion. It was clear that their love for each other went far beyond the stage. They were each other's muse, their voices entwined in a dance of pure enchantment.

The room itself seemed to hold its breath, as if in awe of the transformative power of music and love. Time stood still, and in that moment, I felt as though I was witnessing something truly magical. The music charged the air with electricity, igniting a spark deep within my own heart.

And then, as the last note reverberated through the silence, the room erupted into applause. The spell was broken, and we snapped back to reality, but the emotions lingered in the air like a fragrant memory.

"Faggots!" As the mocking laughter echoed through the theater room, Erin and I exchanged concerned glances. Kenzo and his friends, notorious for their mean-spirited antics, sat huddled in the last row, reveling in their hurtful comments. My heart sank, knowing that Tyler and Miles, both talented and courageous individuals, were now the target of their ridicule. We knew all too well the pain and humiliation that came with being targeted for our identities.

"I'm going to kill that jerk," Klaus murmured from my side, breaking the peaceful silence. His voice was filled with anger and determination. Surprised, I glanced at him, raising an eyebrow.

Klaus turned to me with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Only if you'll let me, of course," he added with a smirk as if challenging me to join his vendetta.

I rolled my eyes but couldn't help letting out a chuckle. Klaus always had a flair for the dramatic. "Gladly," I replied, trying to hold back my laughter.

"Care to join me?" Klaus asked, offering his hand to me. I looked at Erin, who was currently grinning at us like a devil with her new-found fling, Jacob, beside her. I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I wanted to be caught up in the whirlwind romance that seemed to be brewing between them.

Erin nudged me, her mischievous smirk never leaving her face. "We're in," she replied on my behalf before I could gather my thoughts, and then Klaus took my hand. Despite my initial hesitation, something about Klaus always made me feel at ease. His magnetic charisma and adventuresome spirit were hard to resist.

All five of us stood up and headed towards the door. The air crackled with tension as we made our way past Kenzo and his group. As we passed by Kenzo and his gang, our eyes locked in a defiant gaze. Without hesitation, we raised our middle fingers high in the air, flipping them off as a symbol of our determination and refusal to be intimidated any longer. The collective gasp from both groups resonated through the corridor, drawing the attention of nearby people.
