Out of everyone in east lake high school, Beau was one of the least known, and least liked Juniors. very few people knew of his existence, and of those who did, an even smaller amount paid him any mind. Most of that was on purpose, he had found his people and he didn't need anyone else to like him.

Part of his invisibility was because of his favorite thing to do. The only people at parties that everyone sees and nobody talks to are the ones playing.

Beau and his friends played at a lot of parties, mostly covers, Some originals (at the more lax parties). He played guitar, and backup vocals when they needed a guy, but mostly guitar.

Jess was their drummer, the whole band had been her idea because she needed some way to let out her anger that wasn't punching walls or people. Beau had been writing and playing songs as a form of therapy before, and happily showed Jess the ropes

Riley had picked up the slack in the vocals section. She took Jess and Beau's songs and brought them to life.

Cooper was Riley's best friend and at first he just tagged along to shows getting his older brother to drive them. And then they found out that he could play bass as well as traditional piano. After that Cooper's brother had no excuse not to chauffeur them around.

Their band wasn't good or popular enough for a name. But every once in a while Riley and Cooper would run into the band room , where they practiced every week, and yell about a new house party they had been asked to play. It was always Riley and Cooper, they were the face of the "band". Since nobody know who Beau was and nobody liked Jess. They did that that day, It was the Second week of sophomore year. And they had been hired to play at the first major party of the year,

"Its supposed to be at This foreign exchange kids mini-mansion! " Cooper explained excitedly. He plopped down in the chair next to Beau and began to tune his bass.

"well if you got on address we can check," Jess said pulling out her phone. Riley handed over the piece of paper that the information had been written on.

"We have a foreign exchange student?" Beau asked absent-mindedly strumming a few chords.

"well, technically he Just moved here from... actually i'm not sure from where, " Cooper clarifies.

"Ahh, so not a foreign exchange student," Beau dead pans.

"Close enough boss," Cooper defends weekly.

"Exchange is literally in the name," Beau laughs.

"Don't worry Coop, we love you even with you're appalling lack of brains," Jess adds ruffling Cooper's hair as she walks past him to show Riley what she had found.

"So is it a mansion?" Beau asks pulling out his song writing notebook.

"Pretty damn close, as close as your gonna get 'round here." Jess answers, Beau and Cooper both laugh as Jess turns the phone to them.

"No shot we're allowed in that house," Cooper says with a laugh.

"One look at Beau's shoes and they kick us out," Riley jokes. Beau flips her off and puts his mud covered shoes on her chair.

"Very mature," Riley dead pans, Jess snorts.

"I never claimed to be mature, " Beau corrects her.

"When are we playing?" Beau asks changing the subject before Riley has on excuse to hurt him.

"Two weeks," Cooper says, kicking up his own feet so they rest on the edge of Beau's chair.

"We've worked with less," Jess reminds them and they all grimace simultaneously.
