Maya figured it out first.

We were at my house sitting at the bay window, as usual, and Maya was furiously scribbling down something in a journal.

"Whatcha workin' on, Peaches?" I asked, trying to glance over her shoulder, but instead, she hugged the book to her chest.

"I'll tell you when I finish." She replied simply, and opened it and started writing again once I'd leaned away.

After a few more minutes of intense and very fast scribbling, she screamed, her face a mask of curiosity.

"What?" I straightened up instinctually, worried.

A shocked smile spread across her face. "Of course. It all makes sense."

"I'm sorry...what?" I asked, but she ignored me and continued talking.

"All the crazy moments..." She slowly shook her head in disbelief. "The mystery crush and the secret crush. Who knew?"

"I'm sorry." I cocked my head ever so slightly to the side. "Is this about Farkle and Lucas?

Maya nodded. "I figured out who both of their crushes are."

"Who? And how?" I was eager to learn Maya's discovery.

"Okay." She began. "So my first clue was Lucas's response. 'I'm too embarrassed to tell them'. Notice he did not specify this is a girl, so that opened up some possibilities. Then I looked at Farkle's response. 'Farkle loves the ladies, but not individually'. If that doesn't scream 'hello, I'm gay!' to you, I don't know what does! So we've confirmed so far that Farkle's crush is not a girl, and Lucas's may not be. Then I looked a little deeper. I noted many people make up nicknames for their crushes. For us, Riles or Peaches. Who does Farkle have a nickname for?"

I shrugged. Did she expect me to know?

"Why do I have to say this all?" She laughed and sighed. "Pretty Boy. You know who that is? Lucas. And really? Pretty Boy? You can't get much more obvious then that. Therefore, Farkle has a crush on Lucas."

She smiled, satisfied, when I gasped. I was about to say something, but she put up a hand.

"Wait a second." Maya told me, so I did. "What about Lucas? I'll tell you what about him. He and Farkle are best friends. You know who else are best friends? Us. And now we're together. It's hard to assign roles, but I'd say Lucas is more you and Farkle is more me. Therefore, Lucas must have just gained a crush on...Farkle!"

"Whoa, seriously?" My eyes widened and my mouth hung open.

"Yep." Maya looked satisfied. "Lucas and Farkle are in love with each other and they just don't know it."

"Ooh, do you know what this means?" I asked, grinning like a maniac.

"No. What?" Maya laughed. She knew it would be something ridiculous. And it kinda was.

"We get to set up a blind date!" I cheered, grinning.

"Hmm...I like your thinking, kid." Maya smirked, looking pleased. "We just might get away with this..."

"Yeah." I nodded. "We just might get away with this."

Little did they know, he was watching. He'd seen all of it. He knew what they'd found out, he knew about the blind date he was soon supposed to take part in. But let them have their fun. He wouldn't tell them he knew, but he'd get Pretty Boy anyways. It was all a matter of time...

Grinning, the small boy ducked down from the window. How he hadn't been spotted was beyond him, but somehow he hadn't.

Now the act began.

"So, where should we have this blind date?" I asked Maya, drumming my fingers on the glass of the window.

"Hmm...maybe, uh..." She thought. "The park. We'll have them meet up there."

"Okay." I nodded, a goody grin plastered across my face. "6:30 seems good. I'll get Farkle, you get Lucas. Move out!"

I fist pumped the air as Maya laughed.

"We'll have it tomorrow, eager beaver." She smiled. "You just have to wait."

He still hadn't left. He was still listening. Time to get 6:30 tomorrow night at the park set in his calendar. He had to thank the two girls. Without them, he couldn't have told Pretty Boy that he liked him himself. He still couldn't, they were just setting the while thing up for him. It was great.

All he had to do was accept.

And hope Lucas did too.

Some of this actually cut from Riley's POV for dramatic effect. So yeah.
Oooh who was at the window???
Okay, we all know.
Farvel! (It's Danish for goodbye. I'm actually Danish, but I live in the US. Fun fact! Another fun fact: I'm going to a baseball game today! Fun!)
