summer, something my family all loved. when the fishers and conklin's would come together with us at the fishers house and spend the holiday with one another. it was something that made everybody happy and a tradition we all kept since forever.
my mom and i drove to cousins beach, blasting our favourite songs. this was one of my favourite things about summer. the drive with my mom and time i spent with her. i rolled down my window and stuck my head out, winding blowing my through my hair.
this felt like a fever dream as the sun shined onto my face. "what are you doing?" my mom laughed as she looked at me. "soaking it all up." i smiled putting my head back into the car.
"remember, try to be respectful. i know you always are, but i want you to try harder this summer." she focused in the road. "sure thing mom." i kicked my feet on the dashboard.
i reclined the chair back and closed my eyes, picturing what this summer was going to be like. "ohh! there's gas station, ali can you run in?" natalie spotted the sign, "uhm i guess so." i opened my eyes and sat up.
we pulled in and i got out. i entered the gas station, and that's when i saw belly and laurel. "bells?" i crept up beside her and tickled her. "ali? oh my god, hi?" she hugged me as grabbed a packet of chips.
"woah, you look so different, good different!" i corrected my self. belly had changed so much and she looked hot. "i have to say the same thing about you!" she giggled at the compliment.
"alianna, i missed you, love." laurel came up and hugged me. "same here, laur." i hugged her back. "we'll i gotta head off but i'll see you guys at beck's?" i grabbed some snacks and two drinks from the fridge.
"yeah, bye!" belly smiled going back to picking out her food. i placed the items on the counter and the cashier looked at me and smirked, "you new here?" he scanned the items.
i looked around to see who he was talking about, "me?" i pointed to me. "yeah, i don't think i've seen you around, and normally i remember pretty faces like yours." he smiled and finished scanning my things.
"uhm nope not new." i payed for it and left, weird. i jumped back into the car and gave the things to my mom, "here you go." i passed her the drink she wanted, "thank you very much!" she opened it and almost chugged it.
"oh i also saw belly and laurel in there." i opened the bag of takis and ate one. "that's nice, did you say hi?" she asked starting up the car.
"mhm." i swallowed the food and put my feet back on the dashboard. the whole drive we listened to music and i basically slept.
after the long drive we arrived at the fisher house. my mom beeped the horn to let them know that we were here. i watched as susannah leaped out of the door and rushed to hug my mom.
i finally put my shoes back on and got out of the car. jeremiah came running out to hug my mom and eventually saw me, you know in the looney tunes show where the characters eyes go huge? well that's exactly how his eyes went.
