Time to get a move on

Me and Enzo were sitting in the car, parked and waiting for Elijah and Nik to arrive. It was already quarter to seven, only fifteen minutes until they arrived. I was excited to finally be in the same place with all three of my mates, shifting in my seat with excitement every few seconds. Enzo was throwing me amused looks at my antics. It was kind of odd acting like a small child when you were mentally over eighty years old, but one could say if you lose the child within, you are as good as dead already.

When I contacted Nik this morning I was given the impression he was happy to hear from me, but also had some doubts when he heard Elijah will be there as well. I was probably moved to the suspicious list of people already. But aren't everyone with him? I hoped I could gain his trust and get less prosecuted than average. I knew full well I was going to suffer from his insecurities, but I could not stop caring for him. He was a mate I wanted to have by myself.

While thinking a thousand miles a second a soft thrumming of an engine was heard, followed by another. Both cars entered the parking lot and stopped on both my sides. It seemed Elijah was alone, while Nik has brought back up. I wondered if they were the famous witch Greta I knew worked for him in the series.

- Well, I am here, love - Nik told me with a smile when we met in front of the cars - As per our conversation, I have brought Greta with me. No matter how fond I am with you, if any of you try to hurt me I will kill you painfully and then destroy all the family you have and love.

- Hello to you too, Nik - I smiled brightly at him, completely ignoring his threats. He was even better looking than last time. I could get lost into those eyes with ease. Too much ease, I thought when I felt Enzo's arm around my waist. - And this is Enzo - I introduced with a wider smile and gentle look - One of my mates.

Nik seemed taken aback, like I slapped him, but covered it quickly and gave a nod in acknowledgement. His eyes drifted to his brother, noticing a similar pinched face with the introduction. His eyes took a calculative look and went to introduce the witch, Greta, just as I suspected. When introductions were over, he once again focused on me and asked me for the purpose of our meeting .

- I want to give a gift to you and your family. - I was cryptic on purpose, as I knew his temper and wanted to avoid a breakdown as long as possible. - It is a two hour drive from here, in a crypt in a cemetery. I promise you you are going to love it.

- I hope you know what you are doing love. I do not have the desire to kill your loved ones if you were to betray me. - He grumbled softly, which gave me chills and the good kind at that.

It was obvious to all how he affected me and they all turned to look at Enzo to guise his reaction. He only smirked at them and lifted a shoulder in a what could you do kind of way. It puzzled them how a mate could be so chill with his mate flirting with others. Suspicion rose in their minds but no explanation could be found at that time. Only Elijah had a small notion of the truth, but was not ready to face that suspicion.

- I would suggest Enzo rode with you Elijah, and Nik and Greta could ride with me. This way I could speak with Nik about what we discussed last night and get him up to speed. - I suggested, smiling brightly, trying to cover up my nerves for his reaction.

- Very well, Lyra - Elijah agreed and Enzo gave me a reassuring nod , before climbing into the car. I opened the driver's door and waited for Nik and Greta to get seated before I took off.

We rode for several minutes in silence, before I took the main road towards the highway. When settled at a constant speed on the lane, Nik turned to me.

- You wanted to speak with me? - he asked.

- I wanted to give you some background for me - I explained and looked in the back mirror at Greta - I would ask you to take a vow not to repeat what I say in this car before anyone without my explicit permission.
