Love and Softball

Chapter 1

Chapter 1.

One more out, and the game is ours. We'll end the season with a win. But the bases were loaded.

The girl who was getting up to bat had a really good arm. She's known for making homeruns.

The first time a pitched, the umpire called a ball. Our catcher, and my bestfriend Raeen, signaled me for a play.

I tried again, making the ball go lower so the if she did swing and miss, it'll be a strike.

She hit and it went up in the air.

"Down!" Raeen yelled.

I ducked as she caught the ball and threw it to second. Our second baseman, Mellisa, threw it to home as the girl from 3rd base ran home. Well tried.

Raeen caught the ball with ease. Three outs in one play! We are champions!

"out!" he umpire yelled.

Everyone whooped and hollered as our team won. All the girls who were in the dugout joined the rest of the team who were already on the field.

We went into a big group hug which made us fall to the ground.

A little to soon, the waterworks started. But who wouldn't cry about this! Our team's bond is unbreakable! Not to mention 5 seniors will be leaving, including myself.

" Good game ladies. It wasn't easy to beat the lady bears but guess what? We did. I'm proud of each and every one of you. I know our season has come to an end, but I pray that y'all will stay in contact and count to pursue your dreams!" Coach Reed said while looking around our huddle.

"Captain. Take it home" He said again while looking at me.

" Rawr" I say

" rawr" they repeat

"Raaaaar" I say again

"Raaawr" they repeat.

" I am" I yell

" I am!" they scream

"who are you?!" I say in a calm voice

Wildcats" they yell

"who?" I yell

Wildcats!!!" they scream

"bring it in! Lady wildcats one three. 1-2-3!"

"Lady Wildcats!" we all yell in unison.

After everyone breaks out of the huddle, I run over to my dad who's waiting for me by the dugout.

"Good game champ." he greets me while pulling me in for a hug

"thanks daddy! The team's going out for dinner so I'll see you at home." I tell him.

" Okay. Be safe Spencer."

"Always. Love ya!" I say as I skip away towards Raeen who's already waiting for me.

I grab my bag and head out towards my metallic red 2012 gt mustang. Ahh, I love my car. Mostly because it's fast and it looks badass.

Raeen and I get in a drive to Applebees. During the ride, we share our favorite memories of our four years of being a lady wildcat softball player.

I'm so gonna miss her. I'll be going to uga while she goes to lsu.
