Two hours earlierAnastasia's nerves were on edge the entire day, waiting for what was bound to be a disaster to happen.
Of course, she had hoped with every inch of herself that they could be out of here. Free to live their lives as they should. But at the same time, a voice was gnawing at her in the back of her mind, screaming that something was wrong.
She continued her regular work day as usual. Waiting; watching that damn clock slowly tick by.
No words had been spoken from Henry other than last night. What if he had already tried and gotten caught? What if he had decided to leave her here and make a run for it?
The questions were endless, and her anxiety was on edge.
Standing up, she smooths out her slacks before heading out of her office and on her way to lunch.
As she made her way down the endless halls, the alarms start blaring above her.
On natural instinct, she began running back to where here office was. Her heart beating so hard, it felt as if it were trying to escape her rib cage.
Yelling and voices were heard ahead of her, making her motions stop completely. She held her hand over her mouth to silence her breathing, listening closely to the words coming from around the corner.
"Both of you, against the wall! NOW!"
"No, you don't have to be afraid of them Eleven. Not anymore."
That was Henry's voice. He had been caught.
She needed to do something, anything. Help him get free, even if that meant she went down for it.
Cautiously, she rounded the corner. And just as she did, two bodies went flying against the opposite wall of her, cracking the tile as they collapsed.
Her head whirled towards the assailant, only to find Henry and Eleven staring at the one guard left in front of them.
Anastasia watched as he turned his head quickly, and the guard next to her fell with a broken neck.
She could feel her mouth gaping open at what she had just seen. Her eyes made their way back to Henry, only to find him still staring at the bodies. It was as if he was in a trance, and somehow hadn't noticed her yet.
Although that ended quickly, when his blue eyes snapped up to her, his harden look slightly falling. "Ana, come on." His hand was reaching out to her, while Eleven still stared blankly at him. "Ana!"
His voice pulled her out of her head, and she was able to focus on him reaching to her.
Anastasia ran over and laced her fingers with his as he pulled them into a nearby closet. "Wait here, don't move. I'm going to find us a way out."
"Wait," they both said in unison, making him come to a complete halt. "How did you?-" the little girl began to ask, but was immediately cut off. "Like I said. We're alike, you and I."
Henry showed her his wrist, easing Eleven's mind on who he truly was. And then he looked at her. His Ana, who was looking back at him with uncertainty.
As Eleven grabbed his wrist and angled it with hers, his other hand caressed Anastasia's cheek, bringing her close to him. "It will be alright. Stay. Here." His words were harsh, and left no room for disobedience.
"We will stay," she nodded her head in agreement.
He smiled down at both of them, giving her a quick peck on the lips before leaving them alone in the dark closet. "What... was that?"
