the following day at school was very uneventful compared to everything that happened the night before. and miraculously, scarletts family had no suspicion about her wonderful mood and ever so often squealing that would come from her bedroom. it seems that her dreams are much expanding!

after getting off the bus on that next afternoon, scarletts phone almost immediately went off as if someone had cams on her at that very moment.

it was a text from jay, obviously. scarlett smiled ear-to-ear. she only thought about her response for a second.

you know, if your gonna keep up these nicknames, we might as well be dating 😉

the message lingered in her text for a while. this was very bold of her ro say out of no where but, if boldness wasn't equal on both sides, their relationship would go nowhere.

so she sent it.

there was a blank screen on jays end for a while, as if he hadn't expected this from scarlett. no one really would. even when she messaged her best friend saying what she had done, olivia flipped out.

then, she got another message.

thats a bit fast, dont you think?? why dont we slow down and talk about first day things like, favorite colors 😏

scarlett could tell that he was trying to match her energy, but she agreed with him. then, they spoke more about their favorite things and interests; hobbies and familys, etc.

out of the shadows, scarlett got a text from jay that shocked her a little.

could we ft? i feel like seeing a face with words is nicer than just words 😂

so of course, she agreed. when the call came, she answered it and they continued talking. sharing stories and laughing with each other. and thats the last thing scarlett remembered.

next thing she knew, a loud noise came from her bedside table. she grumpily turned over to find jays face in the camera with a soft, whispered, "sorry!" ...
