MAIME

"Hey, where did the boys go?" I asked as Belly walked back into the room. "Are they putting the movie on?" Belly walked over to the dresser and pulled out some different clothes for her to change into. "Uhm. We aren't watching the movie tonight. Do you want to facetime Taylor and Vivian?"

"Oh sure." Belly seemed to be in a odd mood right now so I won't push her buttons. "Where did the boys go? I don't hear them."

"They all left."

"Without us?" Belly nods. I set down the book I was reading. "They didn't even ask me if I wanted to come. Where did they even go?"

"I don't know! Some sort of party."

"Okay. Sorry." Belly sighs and walks over to the bed. "Let's just face time the girls so we can talk." I get my phone from the bed side table and flop down onto my stomach so we can face time the girls. I wait for Belly to finish putting her pajamas on to call Viv. Once Belly falls onto the bed beside me, I dial up Vivian. "What's up bitch? You never call on the first night? What's up?"

"We're having a two way face time call right now. Hold on."

"Oh my God! Is that my bitch Taylor!" Vivian shouts once her long distance bestie pops up on Belly's phone screen. "Vivian? Is that you, you look fucking good!"

"Please, don't talk about me. What about you!"

"Wait, Belly, what's going on. You never face time on the first night?" Taylor asks as her curiosity, confusion, and mild panic settle in. "Um, where are you going?"

"To a show. What's wrong guys?"

"Tonight, Conrad and I were talking by the pool, just the two of us. And it... Felt different."

"Good different? See, I told you." Taylor replied. I watched on Belly's phone while Taylor applied her make up. Viv on the other hand was casually laying on her bed, just listening. "I don't, I don't know. I mean Jeremiah and Steven came down and they just left to this thing on the beach."

"Oh, why didn't you go with them?"

"Like we care about a beach bonfire." I nudge her shoulder. We do, we really do care. It feels like they don't want us around whenever they run off without us. Or deny us coming with them. Makes me wonder how much they truly enjoy Belly and I being here. "Did they even ask you guys though?" Vivian asked and I shook my head. "They left without asking me, and when Belly asked they said she couldn't come."

"What the fuck? That's so disrespectful."

"Tell me about it."

"They don't own the beach." Taylor speaks up from her side of the call. "Well I-I did talk to this one guy, um, who asked me to come."

"What? Belly when?" I shrieked. "SHH, our moms think we're sleeping." She hushed me. "My bad." I whisper giggled. "Come on girls, go have fun!" Taylor whined. "I agree." Vivian exclaimed. "Yeah but... I don't like that guy."

"But that's not the point. Conrad will be there. And so will Jeremiah Maime." Taylor taunts. "Go to the bonfire, get in their eyeline, let him see you all dressed up and looking cute." Belly got up from the bed and I followed her movements with my eyes. "Look in your duffel bag. I've gifted you my secret weapon. Not to keeps, obvs. Just to borrow." Belly digs through her bag before finally pulling out a pink strapped dress I had never seen before. "Oh she's cute!" I complimented. I too sat up, if we were really doing this we needed to look very good. Belly shook her head a bit as she walked closer to the full length mirror, holding the dress up over her frame. "No way in hell."

"Belly," Taylor reprimanded. "Nothings ever going to happen if you and Maime are alone crying in your room, in your big t-shirts waiting for the boys to come home." She reminded. Belly looked to me in the mirror and I nodded. "It would be so fun. We'd be there together."
