it had been a week since neteyam left you high and dry. you did not even have the urge to seek out anyone else for physical affection because all you could think about was him. nobody had ever aroused you so much before, and it was only adding to the pent-up frustration you had towards the insufferable forest warrior.
the tension was thick between you both. more snarky remarks were made at each other than they had previously been. all of your siblings were beginning to catch on to it too.you and neteyam had been bickering with each other all day. you were pointing out every time his diving techniques were incorrect and not helping him perfect them, which was annoying him to no end.
"no, it's like this." tsireya giggled at lo'ak's position. he looked like he was going to cannonball. "you must place your arms tight on the side of your head before you dive and hold your core strong. you want to go deep; the correct position will help you glide down further into the water." tsireya lifted her hands up above her head to demonstrate before leaping off the wooden dock, moving into a pike position, and elongating her posture again, effectively flowing into the water with minimal ripples and splashes surrounding her.
you grinned at your baby sister, watching her effectively submerge her slim body deep into the ocean. she was perfect at demonstrating and teaching the forest people.
she reached the surface again, and tuk squealed out in excitement. "i want to try!"
"of course, you can all try!" tsireya called out to the group, waving them to join her in the water.lo'ak was eager to join and did so, attempting to dive in, only to hit the water in a bellyflop position as he didn't lean forwards enough. the loud smack of his stomach hitting the ocean made you all laugh and erupt into a fit of laughter.
"do better, forest boy!" ao'nung shouted as lo'ak reached the surface, whining in pain and clutching his stomach.
neteyam glared at ao'nung, and in turn, you glared at neteyam. he rolled his eyes at the scowl on your face before turning his focus back onto his sisters.
kiri and tuk were next to join, with the older sister perfecting the dive with ease. however, tuk didn't jump out far enough and was due to come back up right under the dock. she would hit her head if someone didn't pull her away quick enough, and your adrenaline kicked in.
you inhaled and, without a second to spare, dove into the clear waters, searching for the young, dark blue girl. she had dived in pretty deeply, and you found her struggling to swim up to the surface. you were by her side in an instant, with your tail and arms propelling you in her direction. wrapping your hand around her small one, you gently tugged her with you, to which she smiled gratefully through her air-filled cheeks. you stifled a giggle at her adorable expression.
once you both broke the surface, a good distance from the edge of the dock, the young girl gasped for air.
"what did you do to her?" neteyam demanded heatedly, wanting to know why it took so long for his baby sister to return to the surface because, when she did, she was struggling to catch her breath and letting light gags of seawater out of her mouth.
"it's okay, nete! y/n helped me!" tuk coughed and tried to tell her brother upon seeing his cross demeanor.
"mawey (calm), brother." kiri rolled her eyes. she saw you help tuk beneath the surface and turned to nod at you in appreciation, bowing her head. "irayo (thank you.)"
you smiled at her, "no worries. i didn't want tuk to hurt herself."
"i know; it's appreciated. ignore my brother; he has been a bit hot-headed since we left the forest." she attempted to excuse her brother's behaviour.
