Never Truly Dead

First meet

5:25pm

Dick opened his front door making his way in. He placed his gun in his safe and took his shoes off. Dick fell onto his bed after setting his alarm for 10. He drifted off to sleep within a few minutes.

His appointment had felt so quiet ever sense Wally his best friend had vanished into the speed force 7 years ago. He spent the first two years couch hoping his friends and family afraid and to pained to go home alone. It still hurt now but it was only bad on nights like this one where he dreamed of the day Wally was taken.

He heard his alarm start to go off and he sleepily opened his eyes. He looked forward into two bright violet eyes. His eyes widened as he sat up to look at the little girl.

Her hair was black with bits of red-orange in it, it was cut just above her shoulders. Her skin was dark like dicks and there we're freckles sprinkled all over her face going down into her clothes and down her arms. She was wearing a light blue dress that had spaghetti straps, she had a white shortsleeved shirt under it. She had tall light blue socks that looked like a cat at the top. She was wearing white ankle boots. She looked about 10 years old.

Dick got out of bad and looked around his apartment. The little girl followed him as he did so. Once he was sure the girl was the only one there he sat her on the couch and got down on her level. "Hi kiddo, what's your name? where are your parents? How did you get in here?" He asked her.

The little girl giggled. "I'm Ceija! And your my parent!" Dick stared at her blankly for a minute. "What?" He asked. "I'm yours and Wally West child. I was made by the speed force."

Dick nodded as if he understood all while thinking. 'That's impossible' He stood up and looked over at the time. He was supposed to be on patrol by now but this seemed a little more important. He looked down at the little girl. She smiled up at him.

"I know you are nightwing!" She chirped into his thoughts. "Just in case you were trying to figure out what to do with me! Let's go to the bat cave! You can test my blood there!" Dick hesitated. He couldn't help but notice that the girl seemed mature for the age she look. He gave in though needing to know if she really was telling the truth.

He sighed and went into his room. He changed into his nightwing costume and pulled up comms. "Oracle, I need your help." The voice on the other side of the line said. "What can i do for y'a nightwing?"

"I need to do some DNA work. I'm bringing a kid back to the bat cave. Have Tim ready with a DNA tester."

"Alright I'll tell Batman. But what kid?"

"Long story! Ill tell everyone when I get to the cave! Nightwing out."

Before oracle could ask anymore questions dick closed comms and went back out to the girl. She was sitting in the same place as before waiting for him to come out. "Do you need me to carry you?" She shook her head and got off the couch. "I can run." Dick looked at her for a moment then nodded 'guess that would make sense'

Nightwing opened the window and hoped onto the fire escape. He turned to help the girl out. Once they were both on the ground the girl smiled up at dick and sped off white lightning trailing after her. Dick blinked hoping she knew where she was going before jumping from roof to roof until he made it to Gotham. It didn't take much longer to make it to the bat cave where Ceija was waiting at the entrance.

Dick opened the bat cave and she fallowed him in. Tim and Barbra were waiting for him. They both looked a bit nervous though dick wasn't sure why. "Dick we need to-" He cut off When they He spotted Ceija his browse furrowed. Tim motioned to her and ask. "Who is she?"

"I'm Ceija! Nice to meet you Tim Drake!"

Tim looked at her a little shocked. "How did you?"

"I'm the product of the speed force! I have all the memories of as if I was raised by Dick and Wally but im also aware that these are things I experienced in the speed force."

"Wow-"

The now 17 year old Damon spoke up. "How is that possible? You can't be there blood child." Cejia stuck out her arm and said. "Then please check yourself."

The others all hesitated but Tim slipped the needle into her arm and took a small amount of her blood. He took it over to the bat computer and put it into a scanner. The scanner beeped when it was done and Tim typed something into the computer.

After a few moments the computer showed the results. Everyone expected Cejia shared the same shocked look. Dick got down on her level and said. "How did you get out of the speed force!?" She looked suddenly looked around like she was looking for something or someone.

She pointed at a walk that had a hidden room in it. "With him!" Dick turned and raised a brown at his younger brothers. "Is there someone else here?" Tim was the one who answered first. "Actually that's the other thing we wanted to talk to you about..." dick stood up and stared at him confused.

There was a clatter from the secret door and as the fake wall fell it revealed a young man with bright orange-red hair, pale skin sprinkled with freckles, and green eyes.

Wally

Dicks eyes scanned the other man before tears he couldn't fight off anymore started to fall. The speedster ran over to him and the two embrace in a hug. "How?" Dick mumbled in disbelief.

Ducks legs gave out and he took Wally to the ground sobbing into the others arms. Bruce's voice ran through Dicks head. "Wally will you take him home? We can watch this little one." He looked at the 7 year old who frowned at the fact her parents should be leaving her here.

Wally nodded and sped off with Dick in his arms. When they arrived at Dicks apartment Wally took him to get changed. Dick was still wobbly as he changed. When he was fully changed into a gray t-shirt with light blue and white stripes. He stumbled into the living room and fell onto the couch into Wally's arms again. He shifted around for a few heartbeats before they were both comfortable.

Dick was laying perfectly still in Wally's arms. He knew the other man would probably like to go talk to his girlfriend and that he was being selfish by keeping him. Dick closed his eyes and took in every second of the warms from the other. He mumbled just loud enough that Wally could barley hear him. "You probable want to go see Artemis." 

"I already went and spoke to her. I old her I'm happy for her and her knew lover and that I don't want her to feel bad. I aged while in the speed force and I could see everything that happened here." He paused. "Dick I need you took look at me for a moment please." 

Dick shifted fear settled in his heart. Dark blue eyes met Green ones. Wally's hand trailed Dicks back rubbing calming circle on it. "I saw everything when I was there dick. You need to talk to someone about it." Dick shook his head and then felt new tears gather in his eyes. "I-I cant. She-" his voice hitched and dick started to cry again. 

Dick curled up into Wally's lap and cried even more. He apologized multipart times to which wally would say. "you did nothing wrong." When Dick had finally be able to breath again he began to tell the other man voice shaking.  

"Blockbuster discovered my identity under the mask and began to threaten to take everyone I love away...A-after a hard fought fight I had no strength in me left to stop the Tarantula from killing him.  I watched her shoot him to death. With the little remaining strength I had in me I moved to a different connected roof..." He stopped and stared at the ground for a few moments before laying his head on Wally's chest to finish the story. "I couldn't move any father from the panic attack I was having, I wasn't able to control my sobbing and..." He got quieter and quieter giver wally every detail he remembered. "I couldn't move as she startled my lap and- and I begged her not to. I begged her to get off but she didn't" He was sobbing again as Wally hugged him close. 

The two sat on the couch like that for several more hours till they had both fallen asleep. Wally holding Dick and Dick holding Wally like there lives depended on it.

I need to note that I don't do slow burns. it gives me waaay to much anxiety! so yes this will move pretty fast and may not make sense at times! But that's the fun part! I hope you enjoy this fanfic as it is! also if I don't post often I'm sorry its mostly because when I wright different fanfics based on what fandom I'm in the mood for that week!
