the spanish in this book will suck, keep it mind, feel free to correct me or, if people wish, i will remove the spanish speaking parts.

if not obvious, everyone is 18+ in this book!

you grabbed your bag in a rush, "¡apresúrate! your mother calls. "¡Ya vengo mamá! you reply. your bag in hand as you come downstairs.

she sighs."(y/n), did you sleep in, for the third time in the row?" "no, i promise, you replied. she gives you a look." the point was, you needed to get to school, as soon as possible.

you went to a good school, one that wouldn't tolerate any tardiness. and anyway, you had always been a punctual student.

but life in new york was, chaotic. to say the least. you were in your final year of highschool, so you worked while maintaining good grades. you hoped you could move from new york. sure, you loved where you came from, but you need some peace and quietness.

in new york, those two things were nearly impossible. still, you made things work for you. "(y/n)! your friend, taylor smiled. "hi! you replied excitedly. "so, did you hear? she asked. you shook my head.

"you know the villain, spot? taylor asks. you nod. "yeah, apparently he's gone, she explained. confused, you ask, "gone?" "mhm, spiderman stopped him, she said, happily. you shrug, supervillains were nothing new. but spot seemed to differ from the others.

"i-"

the bell rings, when you had begun to speak. you rushed alongside taylor, who shred first period with you. you sit down, giggling like crazy until your teacher said, "quiet down, everyone." you quickly obey, now silent.

"now onto-"

the door swings open, everyone, include you, turn around. your teacher doesn't look pleased. "miles morales, she said. i softly giggle. he chuckles nervously."eh, sorry..." "you're late, again, she said coldly.

he simply smiles, sitting down. he was kind of cute. you had seen him around before. he ended up sitting behind your table. you were so bored, but you needed to finish school, being here would guarantee a good university, hopefully.

"wasn't that funny? taylor whispers beside you. you roll your eyes. "he is literally behind us, tay." she frowns, but you continue paying attention. once class is finished, you headed with taylor to the library.

you needed something new to read. "(y/n), come back? the librarian grinned. "sure am, you reply confidently, you were known for loving books. because, you were never without them. you checked out some more.

"oh come on, do you really need more? you just checked your others back in last week, she whines. you chuckle. "never too much books." she shrugs, squealing when she sees her crush. you roll your eyes. "go on, i won't be upset. make your move, tay."

"thank you! she smiles, hugging you before going over. you simply stand there. when someone stands next to you. miles, from your class. "oh hi, you greet him. "miles, right?" he smiles nervously."yeah, that's me."

you chuckle. "well, i found your unexpected entrance funny, so, you know, keep it up. your humor, i mean." "thanks, miles chuckled. "you're-?" you giggle."(y/n), (y/n) (l/n)." you liked him, he seemed nice, and bonus, he was cute.

you kept talking, before going your own ways. your friend noticed. taylor smirked. "you and morales huh?" "what? you say, in surprise. "i hardly know him." "mhm, but you might be good together, y'know? she smirked.

you roll your eyes, following her. "oh please, i would not fall for someone i just met." she shrugged. "never say never, (y/n)." you did appreciate taylor's optimism, but seriously, if you did become friends with him, you would reconsider the possibility.

once school ended for the day, your mother was busy working so you took the subway. having a single mom, you did understand she would be busy, so you never complained. your phone beeped, your madre messaged you.

dejé dinero para la cena de esta noche, por favor, cuídate, ¿de acuerdo?

more than often, she spoke spanish. you never minded, helped you learn more.

sí, mamá.

she read your message, but must have been busy. she worked as a doctor, saving lives was who she was every day. you respected her career, maybe someday, you would be one too. the way home seemed very slow, but maybe you were being impatient.

you got off, like usual. everything seemed fine. until some villain came around. of course, you were mid walk when he terrorized. but, luckily, spiderman swooped in, saving new york. you couldn't be more relieved.

you still remembered when peter parker died. only a year ago now. still, he was never forgotten, memorials were in place in his honor, he would like them if he could see them. you could've been delusional, but, you could've sworn spiderman had been looking in your direction.

(y/n), you're becoming too delulu now, you thought. you usually visited home every day, your highschool was one where you lived in dorms. because it was a elite school. your mom, making enough money she could place you in good schools.

you were insistent on remaining where you were. but your mother, who had been determined to give you a good life. she had grown up poor, but, you both lived decently. maybe more than some who lived nearby.

you often missed home, so you would visit. on weekends, you would sleep over. but you never stayed over for long. since your mom was usually gone. you grabbed yourself snacks you could have later.

you hummed your favorite song while you plopped down on your couch. you would go back eventually. you just felt homesick right now. something felt wrong, or off. which was weird, because everything around you seemed normal. nothing out of the ordinary.

until, something did happen.

you scream when you were sucked in some hole. you closed your eyes, very confused on what was going on. "help! you exclaim, though, nobody could hear you. your stomach was in turns, processing everything going on.

you groan, landing on some roof of some building. you were in new york, but, not your new york.
