It was the morning after the Full Moon Festival in Shadow, Terra. Everyone had woken up, and our moonstones were fully charged, ready to conjure a portal to Angelica, the capital city of Terra... Oh, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, aren't I? Let me introduce you. I'm Princess Darkness, elder daughter of King Void of the ShadowStars. I live with my sister, Dynasty, in Shadow, home of the Shadow Dragons. We're born with dark colors and feathered wings. I was born black-purple and Dynasty a light gold. When we use our Shadow Magic - I'll explain later - we sometimes, or rather, often, change colors. Our eyes stay the same, though. ShadowStars are all born with a white crystal in our chests, called a moonstone. They're connected to our soul, and they're powered by moonlight. The fastest way to charge them is to sleep under a full moon. We need them charged in order to create portals with our magic. Every ShadowStar has at least a little magic, but royals have infinite magic. I'm sorry, I keep saying magic. How about power? Our Shadow Power. There. Anyways, today was the day after the full moon, and we were going to take our monthly trip to Angelica. Angelica, as I said, is the capital city of Terra Nova. Terra is what our planet is called, and Nova is our universe. Angelica is HUGE, and I mean huge. It's one of the only places where all the dragon tribes live in peace and don't fight at all. It's pretty amazing. Angelica is not ruled by any one tribe, to be fair. A willing dragon from a different tribe acts as president of the city for a month, in turns. And every year in August, the entire city celebrates a festival following a different tribe's tradition. It's a great place. Now that we've got that cleared up, if you still have any questions, feel free to ask.
No? None at all? You're not even a little bit curious about what the tribes are, or what Shadow Power does, or why we need to use portals to get to Angelica? Are you sure?
Okay, great! Let's go to Angelica, then!
I go find my sister, Dynasty. She used her moonstone already, - don't ask what she used it for, I'm not sure, but maybe to see her forbidden Solarias boyfriend 😏 - so we're both gonna go through my portal. Now that I've suggested that more than one dragon can use the same portal, you're probably wondering: why don't all of us just go through one portal, so the rest of us don't have to waste our magic? Well, the answer is simple. Portals close really quickly. All five hundred of us would have to stand side by side and get in that small, double-door sized portal in about thrity seconds. Not exactly ideal.
Found Dynasty, who's bouncing around impatiently. "There you are!" She exclaimed. "Let's go already!!!" Without another word, - we were already kind of late - I pulled the glow out of my crystal and it suspended in the air before us, becoming circular and opening up. My stone dimmed, used. Dynasty eagerly pulled me forward, and we were sucked through time and space, realities parting ways to let us pass through them...
When we reached then end and came out, the portal closed. And I was the first to realize... +This isn't Angelica...+ I said (using plus signs so I don't have to write 'i said,' 'my sister said,' over and over and over), looking around. We were in some sort of... "Rainforest." Dynasty finished, as if she read my mind, which she may or may not have actually done. We walked through the forest, thinking that maybe we'd ended up in one maybe outside of Angelica. But instead, we found something completely different. A collection of huts in the trees, and colorful, unidentifiable dragons flying between them. "What are those?" (<- My sister.) +I have no idea...+ We looked at each other, the same thought going through our heads: We're definitely not in Terra Nova anymore...
