SINKING DEEP
(Ebullition)

I'm Freyja Elie Mercedez, 19 years old. I experienced love at first sight with a woman who happened to be a professor at Silvestre University. Overwhelmed by my feelings, I promptly transferred to the institution, hoping to get closer to her. To my surprise and delight, fate had a twist in store for me as I discovered that the woman I had admired was my very own professor.

"It's me, again." She said while crossing her arms showing her power over us.

But I'm smiling like an idiot here.

Amidst the silence of my classmates, I found myself beaming, captivated by the presence of this powerful and stunning woman before us. I couldn't help but feel incredibly fortunate.

Ang swerte ko naman.

"Before we begin, as you may have noticed, we have a new face among us. She is a transfer student," she announced.

Her eyes scanned each of my classmates, but when her gaze landed on me, I sensed an unspoken message, a connection that seemed to resonate between us.

Parang inuutusan niya akong tumayo at magpakilala by just looking at me. Tumayo agad ako at nagpunta sa harap.

Titig palang nasunod na ako.

"I am Freyja Elie Mercedez call me Frey or Elie, 19 years old, hailing from Glorious South University. I am a second-year Bachelor of Fine Art student. I eagerly anticipate embarking on this journey and working towards achieving my goals alongside all of you."

"What motivated you to pursue the art course? What is art to you?" she asked.

So sudden naman ng pagtanong niya sakin but I will not hesitate to answer.

"I opted for the art course due to my deep-rooted love for colors and my inclination to draw on the walls of my room since I was a child." I glance at her.

She's just there, same position same spot.

"Recognizing my artistic skills, my parents purchased a large paint board and colors for me, which further nurtured my passion. As I continued to paint and create, I discovered that each artwork held a hidden meaning," Tiningnan ko ang mga kaklase kong manghang-mangha sa mga salitang binibitawan ko.

"Art, to me, represents more than just a form of creative expression, it embodies the artist's life journey. Like us, every piece of art is distinctive and carries its own uniqueness. While my father is an engineer and my mother is a chef, their talents differ from my artistic abilities, which adds to my individuality." I said while stealing a glance at the professor. No expression, kahit pagkamangha wala.

"We all possess our own unique qualities, and when we create art, it becomes an extension of our distinctiveness."

Sigaw nung lalaking nasa likod.

"Grabee galinggg!"
