Chapter One: Ride to Hogwarts

The ride to Hogwarts was going to be something new for Jake this year since he never rode on the Hogwarts Express. He's glad he is going back for another year at Hogwarts because he terribly misses his friends he made. He did owl them during the summer but it wasn't the same as actually being with them. He enters his carriage and looks out the window. "Hey, Jake these seats aren't taking are they?" A similar, beautiful voice he knew said. He looks over and sees his fellow classmate, best friend, and house mate Poppy Sweeting. "Uh um, no Poppy go right ahead and sit down." "Thanks all the rest were getting full or they didn't want to sit near peculiar Poppy." She said.

  The two look at each other for a moment. "How was your summer Jake?" Ehh it could be better to be honest. Just stayed at home and practiced my magic and skills. How about you Poppy?" "Well not much either, I mean Gran and I went to Germany to relax and have fun but that's about it." They smile at each other. "How do you think the new year is going to be like this year at Hogwarts?" Poppy asked. "Well I'm honestly going to probably play by ear." Jake chuckles. "Yeah maybe." Poppy chuckles.

  The two go on and on about their summer and what school will be like. The express makes it to Hogsmeade station. Jake and Poppy take a carriage ride to Hogwarts together because they get some looks at them. "Hey Jake people are looking at us." "Let them look, just because I'm hanging out with you doesn't mean they have to bully you for your love of animals." "Thanks Jake, you always seem to know what to say." She says. They go to the great hall and sit at their table with their fellow Hufflepuffs. They get though the first year sorting ceremony and then have dinner. "Jake Potter, well well well." A male tone said. Jake recognized that voice instantly. "Sebastian Sallow, how have you been since last we talked?" "Well Anne still misses Hogwarts and summer was long. Actually was counting the days down until we started again." He chuckled. "Of course you did Sallow, so what you could get into more detention." Jake laughed. "You know me to well Potter. Makes me think your going to give me a run for my money." Sebastian laughs.

Dinner goes well for the group and then they must go to their common rooms for the night. Jake sits down on a couch and starts thinking. Poppy is heading to bed as she sees Jake alone and not going to bed yet.
