I got lazy so I didn't add the beginning part or the part where Craig and Omar talked.
Word count - 683We've put the plan in motion, Craig's gonna stowaway in Jason's sleeping bag, at some point during the night Craig's gonna challenge Xavier to a winner takes all capture the flag game.
"No way," Kelsey yells but quickly covers her mouth when she realizes the librarian is right next to stacks spot.
"Yeah, he accepted our challenge," Craig says quietly.
"So we're going to war? I don't know about this, Craig," wren says, "risking the entire creek to get rid of the king seems like a highly illogical solution to our problem."
"Well, you thought it was logical to let the king onto our side," Craig says, "even though I warned you how dangerous he was."
"It was a miscalculation," wren says shrugging.
"Look, this isn't gonna be easy," Craig says, "but it's our only chance to save the creek."
A hand emerges from the other side of the shelf scaring stacks.
"The books are alive! My experiment worked," wren says.
Wildernessa goes to attack the person but Kelsey holds her back. We see its Jason in his new acorn knight costume.
"Jason," Craig say's going face to face with him.
"Craig," Jason says.
"You ol' son of a scout," Craig says happily, "Jason's on our side. He's been undercover gathering intel on Xavier's forces."
"He's the reason the sugar swipers always knew where to find the kings candy stashes," Kelsey says.
"So, here's what I found out," Jason says rolling out Craig's map of the other side of the creek, "the king is considering three locations on the other side of the creek to hide his flag, the maze, fort wisteria and the kings keep."
"Hmm, we're gonna have to cover a lot of ground just to find their flag," Craig says, "we'll need four teams, three to search for their flag and one to defend ours."
"I don't know Craig, the king has like, a jillion kids at his command," J.P. says.
"Not to mention the champions and Maya," I write down.
"What are we gonna do," Kelsey asks worried.
"Hmm, leave it to me," Craig says, "I know a few kids who wouldn't mind taking down the king."
We recruit the sewer queen, cannon ball, toman, PB mike, PB Benny, sparkle cadet, and the green poncho.
"Alright, first things first, everyone thank my mom for providing snacks," Craig says.
"Thank you very much, adult," everyone thanks Mrs Williams.
"Alright, enough of that," Craig says getting serious, "please direct your attention to the screen. This is our theater of operations, we'll split into four teams, lead by me, Kelsey, Omar, and J.P.. Once we make our initial push through the front lines, my team will head to the kings keep to look for the flag, while Kelsey will lead maney and the 10 speeds to search every coy of the maze. Omar's team will make their way through the sewers to fort wisteria, and J.P. you will be in charge of defending our flag. Y/n, you will help J.P.."
The window opens to reveal Bobby climbing in, I go over and help him inside.
"What about me," Bobby says.
"Bobby?! What are you doing here," Craig asks.
"Please hear me out, Craig. I know I've made a few mistakes, I just want a chance to make things right and to make it up to you," Bobby says.
"Don't make it up to me. Make it up to the creek," Craig says.
The creek is empty now that everyone has gathered to defeat the king.
"Listen up," Beth says, "this is a winne-take-all game of capture the flag. Freeze tag rules, the over pass is the border. Any kid tagged on the opposite side will be frozen in place for the duration of the game. The first to retrieve the flag and return it to their side will rule the creek. The game will begin at the sound of my sousaphone."
Beth takes a big breath and them-.
