This is inspired by the song 'the contortionist,' by Melanie Martens.

You are one of the kings champions and he often has you do tricks one of them being to fit into a small box. The time the story takes place is when he was ruling over both sides of the creek.

Twisted all my limbs for you

I walk to the creek, tomorrow I have a doctors appointment, my body has been hurting a lot so I told my mom.

I haven't told Xavier yet but I'm planning on it.

In three days we're having a royal sleepover.

I see the king and walk over to him.

"King Xavier, I can't make it to the creek tomorrow, I have a doctors appointment," I say.

"Eh, ok don't care," he says dismissive.

I go and stand with the other champions.

Twisted all my limbs for you

'It's not fun anymore doing my tricks, it's just boring and painful,' I think, 'but I can't stop of the king will send me to the maze.'

Ribbons tied around like a noose
Wondering if I'll ever get it loose
I don't wanna bruise from you

'Holding back my words till my face is blue," I think.

I see some acorn nights.

"I don't really care about your crew," I think, "but I do care about the champions, there my friends."

Winter ended up betraying the king and is helping the sugar swipers. She had tried to convince me to join them but I refused.

"Acorn nights," king Xavier yells at the four standing around him, "take me to my keep."

The four all pick up a side of the stretcher type of thing that they used to carry him around on.

You can tell 'em what you wanted to do

We follow them to the kings keep.

"Y/n, do your routine," the king demands.

One of the acorn nights puts a box in the middle for me.

First I put myself into a ball.

Then I do a hand stand.

Bones are crushing, bones are crushing
(Pushin' me)

Then I turn the hand stand to a back bend.

Bodies touching, bodies touching
(Lovin' me)

My back hurts as I feel my bones grind together at the joints.
