“But so what if that’s the case?” Xiang Yi Mo raised the corners of her mouth and wore a beautiful smile. “Even if President Qin doesn’t want to let me go, it’s not up to you. I’m just an intern….”
“Congratulations on getting rid of me, this clingy demon, once and for all.”
With a faint smile, Xiang Yi Mo finished her sentence. She didn’t care what Qin Chu’s reaction was, and with the mockery flashing across her eyes, she turned around and walked out of the office.
The words Qin Chu had been preparing to utter were all stuck in his mouth.
The smile on the corner of the young girl’s mouth was so dazzling that he spaced out. A strong desire to retain her rose in his heart for no apparent reason, and he wanted to grab that hand.
It was like he would lose something significant forever if he let her go today.
But Qin Chu was stunned upon hearing her words.
Unable to discard his dignity and his damned pride, he failed to react in time to grab hold of Xiang Yi Mo.
By the time he returned to his senses, Xiang Yi Mo had long since disappeared. Many emotions instantly surged through Qin Chu’s eyes, and he hurriedly got up to chase after her.
As he watched the lift stop at the ground floor, he hastily pressed the other lift in a hurry. His forehead was glistening with crystals.
After leaving the President’s office, Xiang Yi Mo took the lift back to the floor where the operations department was located.
Before she was about to leave Shangcheng, she went to the bathroom.
However, when she came out of the washroom, she looked up after washing her hand and saw her reflection in the mirror. It was unknown when the female protagonist, Qi Yan, was behind her and leaning toward her.
Their eyes met for a moment in the mirror.
Xiang Yi Mo looked askance through the mirror. Obviously, it wasn’t some chance encounter. This person only came here for her.
However, she was about to leave Shangcheng and didn’t want to be overly involved in this. So she averted her gaze, which had only fallen on her for a second, and looked at her indifferently, without a trace of emotion.
She planned to pretend that she had never seen this person before and directly walked past her.
However, Qi Yan wasn’t willing to let Xiang Yi Mo go.
She had been holding back some kind of emotion on the way here. Now, she was immediately irritated by that glance from her.
Why is she always so high and mighty and not taking her seriously? Is it just because she is a young lady from a wealthy family?
Damn that rich young lady!
“What did Qin Chu say to Younger Sister Mo Mo? Younger Sister Mo Mo must be very proud of herself now? Heh, Younger Sister is so capable.”
Qi Yan struggled to squeeze out a smile and clamped her voice.
She blocked Xiang Yi Mo’s way, not allowing her to leave.
Ever since Qi Yan returned to Shangcheng, she had watched Qin Chu become increasingly inattentive to her. She found that he was increasingly more interested in Xiang Yi Mo. Yet, there was nothing she could do about it. She panicked when she found out that Qin Chu had called Xiang Yi Mo up.
After discovering that Xiang Yi Mo had come down, her mind was filled with random thoughts. Thus, when she saw Xiang Yi Mo’s figure, she subconsciously followed her and stopped her without thinking.
The scheming woman started to lose her head.
Xiang Yi Mo wrinkled her brows, wondering what kind of play Qi Yan was acting. But in any case, she no longer had to accompany her.
She said coldly, “Get out of the way, good dogs don’t stand in the way.” <sup>[1]</sup>
Qi Yan’s face turned ugly in an instant.
Recently, the progress with Qin Chu was terrible, and every nerve was pressed to death. Now, under the repeated stimulation from all sides, she immediately revealed her true colours after seeing no one was around.
“Miss Xiang, no matter what Qin Chu has said to you, it’s better for Miss Xiang not to be delusional.”
“After all, it’s just out of concern for a younger sister!”
Qi Yan heavily emphasised the two words “younger sister.”
Her anxious appearance to assert her rights over him made Xiang Yi Mo laugh after hearing it. “You’re panicking? I’m no more capable than Miss Qi.”
[1] 好狗不当道(hào gǒu bùdàng dào)- “Good dogs don’t stand in the way” means that smart people will not hinder others. It is used to mock or curse someone.
