Felicity
These last two weeks have been a pain. My sisters have all insisted on coming with me, even the youngest ones. I love them all, but it's annoying having to watch to make sure they don't claim to be my sisters. I mean, I know they're my sisters, but that doesn't mean they have to tell anyone. I'm not okay with them coming with me to the ball, but if they stay away from me and my friends, I suppose it isn't too bad. They're occasionally quirky and I love when they are because it shows who they truly are: a bunch of sisters who have flaws and jokes and dirt on each other. Heck, I have dirt on all of them. Maybe I should use it against them. But where? I'll use it at the Infinity Ball if they ever get in my way.
My loud alarm goes off and Joyce Terrell, my favorite singer, starts playing. I had a late night last night as always and I'm too tired to get out of bed to do all my "princess" duties. I turn onto my stomach and the pillow is covering all of my face. I can't see anything except for the pillow. Maybe if I keep my head here, I'll go back to sleep and I won't have to do anything important today. Here's hoping, not that there's any chance that would happen.
After laying in bed for half an hour, I give up and get out of bed, putting on my fox slippers. Foxes are my favorite animals. They're so fierce. I'm still too tired to walk far, so I sit in my brown leather chair. The leather's cold and wakes me up. I consider calling for a maid to get me a coffee, but I don't want to be lazy. I stand up again and go to my vanity. My eyes are closed for the most part and my hair's tangled. I suppose I should start getting ready since it looks like it'll take a while to look good enough to go out in public. As a princess, I always have to be ready and dressed nicely in case someone wants to take a picture of me. I grab my hairbrush. My hair is dark brown and shoulder length. Unlike Lucinda and Millicent, Hattie and I have straight hair.
I walk to my window and open it. My room is stuffy. I need some fresh air, even if it's freezing. Suddenly, as I walk away from my window, a hawk flies into my room and drops a letter from its beak before flying away out the window. I look at the front
To Felicity: the fire sorceress
"The fire sorceress?" I don't know if I'm more excited by the sorceress part or the word "the." I open it up and take out the letter. It's on beige-lined parchment and is written in slanted cursive in black ink, like a historical document.
Dear Felicity,
I have been searching for the last several months for a young woman, another user of fire magic like myself. Recently, I heard of you from a young royal who claimed you were a self-trained magic user with control over your fire powers. She also claimed you knew quite a few tricks with your magic and wanted to do more. As soon as I heard this, I started writing you this letter. If you are interested, I am looking for an apprentice to train to succeed me. You can use the teleportation spell at the bottom to find me.
Sincerely,
The fire witch
The fire witch? She sounds fascinating! I've been wanting to learn more magic and this witch wants to teach me! I just have to take the opportunity and cast the spell! But before I cast it, I should get dressed.
_______
After getting dressed, I examine the bottom of the letter. In the lightest of pencil, a spell is written:
Find whomever you seek
Just make sure these words you speak
Ally or foe address has been shared
Read the address and you will be there
I turn my magical gem into a scepter and then extend it into a staff. I need it touching the ground to cast the spell. I recite the spell aloud and then read the address.
