The encounter with Antonio made Adira rethink all that had happened. It was so short yet intense, she had hurriedly walked out after saying her name to him, hoping that they never crossed paths again, and the thought that they probably never would fulfilled her.As much as she wanted to admit that she didn't like his presence. She knew it was all lies. She loved how timid yet confident she felt around him, timid in his presence and confident whilst he spoke. She loved his aura, his intense masculine scent and how muscular his arms were, his body in general
His presence arose so much power and demanded respect, his voice so thick. Oh.... She could go on for ages about the many qualities of this man, but she had given herself five minutes to think about him and it was up now, it's been up since but what could she do, she was just a horny broke female adult after all. What more is there to that, asides raise money for her father's bills?
Speaking of which, she had not heard from her father in about a week. How careless had she been? Immediately she reached for her phone and dialed his line. He picked on the first ring
"Oh, papa, I'm so sorry" she weened over the phone "I've been so busy, I haven't even had time to myself at all"
"I understand Di" her father spoke softly." you're always besides me, even in your absence."
She smiled at the phone. It felt like he was just there, seated beside her. With a sweater large enough to cover them, and a blanket over his thighs with old frail hands over a hot cup of tea. When her father had been diagnosed with Leukemia, it seemed like all was going to be over. Her panic attacks and anxiety began eventually and there were so many difficulties
But it's been three years now and look how much progress she's made, they've made, because, without her father, Adira would have been long gone.
"So how's everything papa, go on tell me" she spoke moving her phone to the other ear, so she could do some work with her right hand.
"Don't make this about me, my life has been nothing but dull. You instead, you're young and full of life, you should have more to tell me than I, you" he laughed and she found herself giggling in return "Any young man yet?"
"What, papa no!!" She exclaimed causing laughter to erupt from him. Oh, how much she missed him! How carefully his gentle hands caressed her cheeks and how satisfied his comfort made her feel, more satisfied than her daily cup of coffee.
"you should be able to talk about these things with me, you should be comfortable enough"
"I am Papa, but now is not the time, there's no one yet" She dropped the pen on her hands and rubbed her temples "I'm not focused on that, I have work" she giggled
"Argh Adira!" Her father groaned "Drop that goddamned pen and have some fun, take some shots, get yourself a good man, settle down, have kids, get a good house, paint some portraits, you know, surround yourself with some good energy, you deserve it kiddo"
"Eventually Papa, eventually" she frowned, in as much as she loved her father. She had mixed feelings whenever he brought up such things, not only because she was not opportuned to have them yet but because they also reminded her that there was a possibility her beloved papa would not be able to share those moments with her.
"How are you doing papa""Estoy bien, estoy bien" he chorused and she smiled even more. She loved when her father spoke to her in her language, it made her feel all the more closer to home (I'm fine)
"Oui, papa, eso es bueno" she spoke, picking her pen back to continue with work "And how's the nurse?" (yes papa, that's good)
"She's so lovely, she reminds me of you pequenò" he coughed "Long hair, and dark eyes, just like yours, I see you in her mama"
(Little one)
