Everything started with Scarlett Lee, the only child of the Lee Family.
Scarlett's family is wealthy and noble, which makes her pretty famous. She is also pretty, talented, and friendly; everybody likes her.
On the other hand, Aliana Vargas is one of the school's scholars. She is quite clever and from a common family. She doesn't have many friends because nobody wants to talk to her.
They are total opposites.
One day, Scar was writing an essay as an extra task in school, as she was failing her classes, busily typing on her laptop.
But soon, she got bored so she decided to go for a drive in their subdivision.
Meanwhile, at the same time, Alia was tasked to look after her younger sibling at home along with her twin when the dogs growled outside their house.
She peeked out to see who was outside that made their dogs bark that loud.
It was her uncle. Aliana shushed the dogs down and invited the guest inside.
"What made you go to our house, Uncle? Lost your way?" Alia sarcastically said to the older man.
"I know you are still mad at me, Alia... I can't blame you for that. I just want to make it up to you." said her uncle.
"How do you plan on doing so?" Alistair smugly said.
"I will pay for both of your studies. I will be responsible for both of you. You may live in my house too." the older man said.
Her lips parted after hearing that. "What made you think my parents would agree to that?" she asked the older, not believing his intentions.
After she asked, her parents showed up by the door, looking at the familiar figure they hadn't seen in a long time.
"Mom, can you believe what this guy just said? He's taking us to his mansion-like house!" Alia exclaimed.
"Is this true, Albert? You're taking the twins with you?" Her mom asked.
"Yes, to make it up to you guys. I want to help you." her uncle blabbered.
Alistair scoffed, "Make it up? I thought you forgot about us." she then laughed.
"Alistair Rome Vargas..." her dad called.
'Whatever." he said, sitting closer to his twin.
The rain suddenly started pouring.
"You'll give us up on him?" he asked her parents.
Her parents' silence made her scoff.
"Whatever, like we can decide anyways," she said before leaving.
"Alia!" Alistair called, but she didn't respond or look back.
She doesn't care if it is raining already. She just wants to go far from her parents, her uncle, and the responsibilities she never wanted to have. I
t made her imagine what it would be like to disregard things.
To just be free.
That must have felt good.
The rain poured so hard that she couldn't see where she was going.
Then, she saw a white light approaching her.
She closed her eyes and let the light get close. There followed a loud thud.
Scarlett, who was driving the car, got too startled. She crashed into the post right after she bumped into Aliana.
Ambulance sirens can be heard soon after. Then, both of their sights turned blurry.
Everything went black.
Tick-tock! Tick-tock! Tick-tock! The ticking sound of the clock can be heard loudly.
Alia felt funny and ticklish, and so did Scarlett.
Then...
The alarm made a loud buzzing sound.
