I know for a fact almost every one of us has self-esteem issues or is image-conscious. I know you're not perfect, everyone has flaws. But acknowledge your flaws and insecurities and don't hide them, embrace them. It's very important to be comfortable in your skin. If you want to improve your body or looks, do it not to impress others but for yourself, do it because it will make you happy.

Don't dismiss the compliments you receive instead acknowledge them and gracefully accept them. Everyone has something that makes them unique.

Change your attitude towards yourself, others won't like you unless you like yourself first. Once you do that, you will see your doubts and insecurities in a whole new light.

Start seeing the good instead of focusing on the bad. Ask yourself, what's good about me? What's the reason others like me? Take pride in the things you're good at.

Confidence is everything! If you're confident in yourself no one's opinion should matter to you. A confident person will definitely attract others. Be someone who others can get inspired from.

Try this, write down all the things you like about yourself, write all the things you don't, and all the things you want to achieve. Then compare what you've just written and write down what you can do to improve. You'll realize that your insecurities are not as huge as they seem and can be worked on.

Another thing to try is that you can tell your friend to do the same and compare each other's notes. You may find out that most of what you think is bad about you is irrelevant to others. You'll start seeing yourself from others' perspective.
