The biological definition of health is "the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not just the absence of disease or infirmity"

Mental health is important no matter who says what. Many students suffer from insomnia or depression. It's not something you can joke about; it may turn into something very serious. You don't necessarily need to see a doctor to improve your mental health. The key is to know that you suffer from a problem, know that you're depressed, that you are an insomniac, or suffer from anxiety. I'm not an expert but hope these tips help you.

If you can't sleep try reading a book or working out at night, do things that tire you out. Most people who suffer from insomnia can't sleep because they overthink or their thoughts keep them up at night. Try to figure out what's bothering you, ask yourself what am I so worried about? Once you know what's the problem find a solution! If you're worried about a task you haven't finished, set a time and a place to finish it and do the task well. If you're bothered by something that happened that day and you just can't sleep, try doing things that calm you down. Listen to soft music, say a prayer, or better yet talk to a friend about your problems if you can't talk to someone, write it down in a paper or a diary.

Depression is another major problem most of us go through. Do not make the mistake of pitying yourself and brooding, no one's going to help you unless you want to help yourself. Like I said once you know you're depressed you can fix it. Find out the reason, maybe it's some event that happened or something that's not working out. You may feel like not doing anything just lying around and that's normal. Surround yourself with people who love you. Do little things that make you happy maybe watch your favorite movie, eat your favorite food, try out your hobbies, or whatever feels comfortable. Some things may not go as planned but you can always talk to others and figure out what to do next.
