Part 2: Preparing to Leave
Eira's quaint brick house in the far village of Ireland was abuzz with activity. With a book in one hand and a spatula in the other, the twenty-year-old lady skillfully flipped the sizzling bacon while engrossed in her reading. Completing her task, she called out to her foster mother.
"Mom, breakfast is ready!" Eira's voice echoed through the house.
Her mother appeared from the back, responding with a smile, "Okay, sweetheart, I'm coming!"
Setting the table for two, Eira couldn't help but add an extra plate. She knew that her friend Arm would soon be arriving to pick her up. Just as anticipated, a familiar face appeared at the door.
"Eira, good morning!" Arm greeted her, a warm smile on his face.
"Good morning, Arm. Come, have breakfast with us," she invited him.
Meanwhile, Eira's mother joined them, addressing Arm with affection. "Oh, hi Arm! It's lovely to see you here. Are you here to fetch my daughter?"
Arm nodded, his mouth full of bread. "Yes, I'll be heading to the village town this morning to sell my vegetables. I'll drop off Eira at the kids' center on the way."
Smiling gratefully, Eira's mother made a request. "That's wonderful. Please do drop by this afternoon. I'll be baking pies for tomorrow's delivery at Uncle Bonie's bakeshop. I'd like to thank you with a few as a token of appreciation for your kindness to my daughter."
Arm chuckled, his smile warm and genuine. "It's not necessary, Ms. Oldeny. I'm happy to help both of you. But if you insist, I'll be here later this afternoon, around 5 pm."
As the conversation flowed between her mother and Arm, Eira remained quiet, engrossed in her book. She listened with a content smile, finding solace in their lively exchange.

A week had passed since Shane's conversation with his father, yet he still hadn't reached a decision. He was supposed to depart three days ago but had refused, needing more time to contemplate the mission bestowed upon him. Despite his frustration, Lord Nicholas had relented, agreeing to the delay. But now, the time had come for Shane to leave.
Shane found himself lost in thought in the palace's greenhouse garden when a voice called out to him from inside.
"Hey, Shane!" Prince Niko approached him, his voice carrying a mixture of curiosity and concern. "I thought today was the day of your departure. Why aren't you getting ready yet?"
Shane let out a heavy sigh. "I'm finding it hard to see the necessity of this mission. It's not that I doubt my abilities or the significance of the necklace. It just feels... absurd."
Niko stepped closer, his voice gentle yet persuasive. "You're overthinking, Shane. The necklace isn't ordinary; it possesses powers our father needs, especially now that the village people are in desperate need of assistance."
Shane's brow furrowed with lingering doubts. "It's not the people I'm worried about. I love our villagers, and it's my duty as their prince to help them. But why must I search for a magical necklace in a world devoid of such enchantment? Why the human world?"
Niko paused, his eyes searching for an answer. "I don't have all the answers, Shane. But let's trust our father. Perhaps he possesses information that suggests the thief is in the human world or that the necklace is hidden there. Besides, the human world is the safest place for a magical object like the purple necklace," the elder prince reasoned.
Shane took a deep breath, contemplating his brother's words. "Okay, then. I will do it," he declared resolutely. Although still harboring hesitations, Shane rose from the bench where he had been reclining and made his way toward the palace's exit. This time, he carried a newfound determination. Just before leaving the greenhouse, he spoke with conviction, "However, I am only doing this mission for the sake of the people and the entire city of Florence."
