When i come to dinner only three chairs weren't occupied. One from right from Aemond, for Aegon. I chuckled. For sure, he will be much happy sit next to his older brother. And two between Helaena and Baela. I smile, already looking forward to nice dinner next to my sweet aunt when Aegon sits on my chair.
I clear my throat to get his attention.
"Could you take another seats, uncle? I want to sit next to brother" i said him smiling.
He smirks back. "What about my brother?"
Seriously? Gods, i forgot what he can even more madden than his mother. My smile didn't falter for a second, now it's my main knife.
"I'm sure he's good company. But Jacerys and I have been busy studying lately, so I would like to spend dinner with him"
"But Aegon hasn't seen his nephew in years, princess, let them spend this time together" Alicent 'I-was-not-asked-but-I'll-tell-you' intervened. "I think you will find common themes with Aemond and Helaena"
I wanted to hit her but instead of it I looked at her and smiled more. There aren't enough curse words in this world to describe my feelings for her at this moment.
"Indeed, your grace" I said walking to chair on the other side of sweet aunt Helaena.
Aemond hides a smirk behind a glass when i sit down. It's worth reminding him, that I hate his family except for Helaena, so sitting among them is doubly unpleasant. But unfortunately all of them here, so I won't. Now i get why mother run away to Dragonstone from this.
I see how Luce look at me with little apprehension and displeasure because I sit next to Aemond. I wink at brother to calm him down. It makes Luce little embarrassed, but he smiles me.
"How are your dragon flights going?" Alicent asked and look at me. I so much happy talking to you, Alicent, thank you.
"Raex is smart dragon, so it's good, thank you" i answered. My first flying happened when I was seven and he was bareback. And my mother nearly killed me because i scared her. Of course I'm a good rider.
"When we last saw your dragon it was twice as big as it usually is. Is he still?" Oh so that's the thing.
If you want to know how dangerous he is, then you have to go to Dragonstone and check it out yourself, genius manipulater.
"Of course he got bigger over time, your grace" i answered smiling.
"Honestly, I was surprised that you left him there, you loved flying so much as a child" Our long conversation has already begun to attract attention. My mother frowns from the interrogation of Alicent, looking at Daemon.
"I still love it, I just thought he'd be more comfortable on Dragonstone"
Actually, he stayed on island not without reason, but queen has no need to know it.
"Oh, why?" she said pretending t o be interested.
"In King's Landing too many people" i answered and turned to Helaena. "What about your dragon, princess?"
She looked up from her plate, for a few seconds just looking between me and Alicent. "She's still beautiful as you said years ago, Daemys" she said with little smile.
I smile back and take a sip of wine.
The doors of the hall open and we all rise from our seats. We hypocritically honor the king, i can physically feel the poisonous pretense of greens.
Four guards bring in his chair and it looks pathetic. If i were in his place, i would crown Rhaenyra. He don't have a lot of time and we all see it. Maybe the bill goes for weeks, or maybe for days.
