Dalggom POV
As Taehyung and I step into the vibrant atmosphere of Jin's wedding, a mix of excitement and nervousness fills the air. It's a moment I've been both dreading and longing for—the chance to face the six guys, my old friends, and address the unresolved issues that have kept us apart for so long. With every step, I take a deep breath, bracing myself for the emotional rollercoaster that lies ahead.
The venue is filled with laughter, music, and the joyful energy of celebration. The familiar faces I spot amidst the crowd evoke memories of a time when we were inseparable. Taehyung, sensing my apprehension, stays by my side, providing a comforting presence amidst the sea of people.
I make a conscious effort to seek out each of the guys individually, wanting to have a conversation with every single one of them. Approaching Namjoon first, I find myself captivated by his wise and calm demeanor, which has always been a source of inspiration for me. His warm smile welcomes me, but beneath it, I sense a deeper longing for connection.
Namjoon: So they weren't lying. You're really here.
Dalggom: I guess the rumors can be true sometimes.
His eyes search mine, as if trying to unravel the layers of emotions that have accumulated over the years.
Namjoon: I've missed your smile.
His words strike a chord within me, stirring a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. I know I've missed the warmth of their presence too, but I can't deny the pain and uncertainty that still lingers.
Dalggom: I've missed you all too, despite everything.
A tinge of vulnerability colors my voice as I acknowledge the complexities of our past. It's not easy to address the pain we caused each other, but I'm determined to bridge the gap and rebuild the trust that was shattered.
Namjoon: We should have a serious conversation later. There's much to discuss.
His words carry a mixture of hope and apprehension, reminding me that this journey won't be without challenges. We exchange a knowing look, silently affirming our commitment to this process.
Dalggom: We will.
I leave Namjoon, feeling a glimmer of hope in our interaction. It's a simple exchange, but it signifies a willingness to reconnect. I move on, knowing that there are more conversations to be had, more wounds to heal.
I spot Jin, J-Hope, and Jimin gathered together, and with a mischievous smile, I approach them.
Dalggom: You monopolize the groom? It's a crime!
J-Hope: OMG! You're really here!
He pulls me into a tight embrace, and I can feel the genuine happiness radiating from him.
Dalggom: Yes, I am here.
I turn to Jin and offer my congratulations.
Dalggom: Congratulations, Jin. I've seen your wife, and she is absolutely gorgeous.
Jin: Of course, I'm beautiful, it just makes sense.
We all laugh, and in that moment, it feels like old times. We catch up, sharing stories of our lives after high school. Jin became an actor, Jimin pursued a career in modeling, and J-Hope found his passion in choreography.
As we talk, there is a sense of ease and warmth in our conversation. We reminisce about the good times, acknowledging the pain we caused each other without dwelling on it. It's a mix of lightheartedness, vulnerability, and genuine support.
I take a break and find Jungkook and Taehyung outside.
Dalggom: Hey! What are you doing here?
Taehyung: I'll leave you two alone.
He kisses me on the cheek and walks away, giving Jungkook and me some space.
Jungkook remains quiet, his eyes filled with a mix of shyness and curiosity.
Dalggom: You look like a man, but you still act like a child.
Jungkook: I was too embarrassed to come talk to you, so I came outside.
Dalggom: You'll never change.
We both share a laugh, breaking the tension that lingered between us.
Jungkook gazes at me with admiration and speaks softly, "You're really beautiful, a real work of art."
Dalggom: And I'm flattered to hear this coming from an artist.
Jungkook: How do you know I'm an artist?
Dalggom: Seriously? Have you seen Taehyung's apartment? It's full of paintings signed JK. He really thinks I wouldn't notice.
We both burst into laughter, enjoying the lightness of the moment.
Jungkook: That was a stupid move.
We continue our conversation, reminiscing about our shared memories, the things we've missed, and the lessons we've learned over the years. It's a chance for us to reconnect on a deeper level and explore the changes we've undergone since our separation.
As the night draws to a close, I realize that rebuilding our friendships won't happen overnight. It will take time, effort, and continued open communication. But in this moment, surrounded by friends and filled with newfound hope, I know that we're on the right path.
However, I couldn't ignore the fact that I had been avoiding Yoongi all day. Despite my efforts to connect with everyone else, I had intentionally kept my distance from him. The thought of facing him, of addressing the pain and unresolved emotions between us, was overwhelming. But deep down, I knew that if our friendships were to truly heal, I couldn't continue avoiding him. It was a challenge I needed to face, a conversation I couldn't postpone any longer.
After a night filled with heartfelt conversations, laughter, and dancing, I realized that I had truly enjoyed myself. It felt incredible to reconnect with my friends, to share in their joy and celebration. We danced, laughed, and had fun, creating new memories to add to our shared history.
During the reception, as the night was winding down, Jin approached me with a smile and handed me a beautiful flower. It was a gesture that made me pause and reflect. Holding that flower in my hands, I couldn't help but think about the love and happiness surrounding me. My friends were moving forward, embracing new chapters in their lives, while I had remained stagnant. I had closed myself off to love and the possibility of finding happiness.
As the night came to an end, we all made our way back to our respective hotel rooms, tired but content. The weight of the past and the hope for the future lingered in the air. Resting in my room, I contemplated the events of the day, the progress made in rebuilding our friendships, and the personal journey I still had ahead of me.
