Chapter: four, Mark
As fast as I could, ran straight to my father’s office. Slammed the door open to see my father alone typing. “I FOUND HER!” I nearly screamed. He jumped up to see me once he got what I was saying a huge grin came across his face. “That’s great son tell me who is she? Please tell it isn’t that Jenny girl.” I nearly laughed at that this girl was far from Jenny I could already tell that much. “No dad. Thank god for that. But there’s one thing you should know before you get all excited.” He nodded with a serious look on his face. “She’s….human.” I said praying that he would accept her. He laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world. “Son that doesn’t mean anything. In fact it makes her that much stronger. It means somewhere deep in her line of blood she was a warrior.”
When I gave him a confused look he gave more information on what he was talking about. “You know the moon goddess Diana who created us. Well she picked some humans to help her to make us. And to fight with her incase there were any others who defied her. She picked three. Their names where the Condes, Winters, and the Greekends. Now the last ones the Greekends were the most powerful and dangerous of them all and in the end they were all destroyed by the others gods feared for their power, because they were direct descendants of Diana herself.”
I was shocked my mate was a warrior! She made me think of one in all that leather. I smiled. Then asked my dad to help find a way to make her mine.

Later that night I found out her last name was Months, and that today was her first day at the Pet store down the street from my house. I found out a lot of other things from people around town. But her school files were on lock even from the Alpha’s command. That and no one could find out anything else not even about her parents besides her mother who never finished high school because she got pregnant with my beautiful mate.
Her father is unknown at this time. I got dressed in a plain black shirt with a plain pair of blue jeans the lucky ones of course. I walked out the house without breakfast. Had to get there early I convinced the shop owner to give me a job and say I’ve been working there for over a year. Couldn’t let my mate think I was stalking her.
I got in my car and drove to ‘work’ to find my October and the shop owner, Dawn, talking. They were smiling like they were old friends but I knew that wasn’t the truth. No one really knew October she kept to herself. But they were laughing like they were both school girls. Well one was. The other Dawn was a woman in her late thirties with long short blond hair and pale skin with black eyes. That when you anger her or hurt one of the animals was said to look like black fire.
I coughed to catch their attrition Dawn looked at me and smiled. Dawn has always been a sister to me almost all my life. “MARKIE!” I winced I hated when she called me that. October giggled till she turned to me and saw it was me, don’t think I didn’t noticed the twinkle in her eyes.
I smiled at her and started in to my role. “So this is the new worker? She’s very pretty.” I smiled at October she just rolled her eyes. Then Dawn opened the door and walked in saying “I’ll show you a tour of the shop we open in an hour so lets get started Mark you come with us just in case you forgot anything in that week you were out.” Oh Dawn loved making fun of me. I smiled at her while October was looking but when she looked away to see the animals I mouthed threats to Dawn. She just laughed like it was the funniest thing she had ever seen.
“AH!” October screamed at first I was in defense mode trying to find the threat. But soon found out it was a scream of glee because she saw the puppies in there little cages. They all started jumping happily when she came close, even the mean looking one that had eyes that made you want to die inside.
“Wow! I’ve never seen Blackie look so happy to see someone you must be great with animals.” Dawn said. I guess Blackie was the death dog. October just smiled at her while playing with Blackie and rubbing his head. When I tried to get close to Blackie he just growled. I could see in his eyes he was angry that I was in his space. But once he got the idea that I was the first son of the Alpha making me the future Alpha. He bowed his head at me but I could see he was still angry with me.
I turned to October and smiled. She smiled back at me but I could tell it was made to be there like she wish I wasn’t there. That made me sad. What had happened to her to not trust her own mate. But then it hit me that she didn’t know. I had to remember that she was human.
Once we finished the tour Dawn excused herself to go buy so things for her family dinner. I smiled a thanks at her. Then turned to October to see she was looking at the animals deep in thought. Her expressions looked like she was having a conversation. I laughed with who? Herself?
