The Worlds collide

Chapter 2

Charlie and the boy made it to the hospital, rushing to the nurses station where they were greeted by a nurse and a doctor.
"Are you here for Mrs.Matthews?" The doctor asked
Charlie nodded, "Where's my wife?"
"She is in surgery, she's stable now but she lost alot of blood," the doctor said " She was shot with a bullet that was specifically made to kill demons. But they got it out before it could cause to much damage."
Charlie gave a sigh of relief, he knew his wife was always at risk for these types of things. Max on the other hand started pacing. He never did well in hospitals but being here for a different than himself caused him a bit of unease.
"You can either wait here or we can call you when she wakes up." The nurse said.

Charlie looked at the two boys, seeing the discomfort max had, he answered for them. " Ill wait here for her,you two go home. I'll come get you when she wakes up."

Johnathon nodded and took Max outside, where he started to breathe easier. Max had anxiety and was autistic. He had his headphones on his neck but Johnathon gently put them over his ears. He knew that music helped max when he was overwhelmed with a situation like this.
Max gave him a nod, thanking him.  The hospital was close to the mall so they decided walking, weaving in and out of traffic. Finally reaching the Mall, Johnathon nudged Max towards the game stop. They both played games, it was their way to bond since they didn't really have anything else in common.

Johnathon was more outgoing but shy and awkward when meeting new people,while Max was way more introverted. They both kept in their own groups but always made time for each other. They had a bond no one could understand, they were always there for each other. Johnathon was very protective over his little brother, always have been.

"I'll let you get one game for our switch and when we get home we'll play it." Johnathon said
"Mario cart." Max said immediately
"Good choice, that's only two player game we don't have."

They purchased their game and then got lunch. They waited at the mall til it closed, but quickly went back to the hospital. They couldn't get home, since Johnathon didn't have his license yet and they were to far to walk home. Walking back through the doors of the hospital they were greeted by Charlie. He looked tired, his bright blue eyes were now dim. He gave a weak and tired smile.

"Any news on mom?" Max asked
"She's out of surgery but she still hasn't woke up. They aren't sure when she will wake up, so they suggested us go home til we get the news that she's awake." Charlie said, pulling his keys out of his pocket. "So let's go home and get some rest. Maybe tomorrow we'll get news."

The boys nodded and followed him to the car, the drive home was silent and the moonlight shined bright into the car. They made it home and they all hurdled in. The boys went into their room, climbing into their own beds tired and drained from their day. Charlie went into his room and sighed, worried for the boys and his wife. He slowly drifted off to sleep.

It has been a few days and still no news of the congresswoman awakening, leaving Charlie and the boys a worry mess. Johnathon walked into the kitchen, where he was greeted by his father and some one unknown, Johnathon gave a confusing look. Charlie gave a nod, raised his glass, "This is Derek, he is one of the men on your mothers's security detail. He will be here til they know why your mother was targeted."

Johnathon rolled his eyes, "So now we're being watched as punishment?"
"You can still do your normal thing everyday but you have to deal with me along the way." Derek said
"So I can still fly when I get off? You know how much it means to me to fly." Johnathon said
"Yes, but you'll have someone to join you unfortunately." Charlie said

Johnathon let out another groan as he grabbed a bowl from the cabinet, reaching for the box of cereal when Max came in behind him. Max gave a grunt as he sat down. His brown hair a mess as they swirled around his ears and curled around his emerald eyes. Johnathon hissed at him in return as he turned around, placing his bowl on the counter pouring him a bowl as well as max a bowl.

"What has you so grumpy this morning?" Charlie asked Max.
"Didn't sleep well." Max responds, then he looks at his phone. "Can I go to Nickolas's after breakfast?
"Derek will drive you there but you got to let me know when and if your home. I'm going to go see your mother while Johns at work." Charlie said

Max nodded,finished his breakfast before heading back upstairs and changing. He put his headphones over his shaggy hair and came back downstairs. " I'm ready." He said. Derek gave a nod to Johnathon and Charlie, then left with Max.

Johnathon decided to head to work, leaving Charlie on his own. Charlie got in his car and headed to the hospital where then he was greeted by two more security officers.

"Sir, she's awake. She's asking for you." One of the men said.

Charlie nodded, "Take me to her."
